Showing off comic work in a professional capacity is hard for me since my entire comic process is built on saving time. I don’t for example line my panels out initially, I block it out with grey on it’s own layer. You get a solid well defined shape exactly the size you want, straight edges AND it can be easily manipulated. Saves a little time but in the end all the time you saved makes the comic cook faster.
BUT THEN you end up with a rough page that looks nothing like what your traditional sketch page would so if someone’s like show me your pencils I’m like....mh yes BUT what if I don’t, they look like garbage.
I always know what I want the end result to look like so I can afford to be messy, I don’t have to precisely tell anyone what’s mess and what needs to stay, so I’m always just sweating wanting to show the end result. It’s kind of the pit fall of doing everything while maintaining comic speed. Save time everywhere you can.
