The canon status of Gwen and Kamala’s relationship is really, really depressing. The last thing Gwen said to Kamala is "you killed me with kindness" and then she vanished off the face of the Earth. For someone as empathetic and kind as Kamala, that's absolutely terrifying. Sure, Gwen’s actually fine in Krakoa, but somehow I doubt there’s an easy way for Krakoan residents to communicate with the outside world. (Full disclosure: I’m not reading any of the current X-Men books, so I’m not sure about this; I could be wrong)
And if Gwen knows anything outside Krakoa, she's heard of Kamala's Law, named after the girl who fell into a COMA, that makes teen vigilantes like Ms Marvel illegal, so even if she wakes up, her life's turned upside-down. Even if she hasn’t heard of it, Gwen is smart enough to realize how she left Kamala looks really, really bad.
I NEED a sweet follow-up story about these two. Lighthearted or emotional, I just need closure.
