Wilson here! I haven't frequented the Cortex very often in recent history, but that is about to change! (That's a promise!) Before you go any further, if you haven't checked out Lucius' 2015 curriculum as yet please do so here....

January Comic list 2 & 3

Well I hope that my followers (all 9 of them, love you guys) enjoyed my first list of the year and in case you missed My top 10 Comic Stories of 2014, you can check it out at the cortex.  I will now round out January by counting down 15 things to look forward to in 2015 and 15 comics I will be adding to my pull list in 2015. A post a day will be posted for each of the list and upon completion at the end of January the full list will be available at Comicidal Cortex. The list titles are not great so I will give a bit more insight into what these 2 list will cover. 

15 things to look forward to in 2015:

Everyone starts the new year with a fresh outlook on things  and a lot to be excited about. When the ball drops we all reflect and say "This is the year..." Well the nerd in me says that this will be a great year for comics and while I am sure there will be some disappointments, there are a lot of things to look forward to in the new year. This list is a glimpse into some of the epic things I will try to stay in tune with in the comic book world. 

15 comics I will be adding to my pull list in 2015:

So there are always be more comics to read. While not all the comics on this list will make my physical pull list, these are books that I  have yet to pick up and will visit at some point in the year. Since we are half way through the month I have already picked up one or two of these books, but that is much better for readers because now you get some insight into the books. In short these are stories with a lot of anticipation or hype that you may want to consider picking up.

My Top 10 of 2014 #10

#10: Guardians of the Galaxy

This breath of fresh air from marvel is just proof they have their cinematic universe on lock. The Guardians of the Galaxy as a comic is always canceled as quick as I am aware it might be something to read. It is only natural that the MCU gave themselves a way out by isolating the movie from the rest of the universe and making the power gem the only connection to the rest of the MCU. That way, if the movie sucked, we could forget it happened  and send the gem to Earth by some other method.

FORTUNATELY that cop out is absolutely unnecessary. Groot and Star-Lord have now become household names and this ragtag band of misfits took us on a wild ride that was different from anything else we’ve seen in this movie genre.  The guardians have finally found their niche and it lies in the comedic brand of heroing they bring to the table that mask all of their deep running personal issues. For the change of pace this movie was able to bring us, it has made its way into the way on our list at number 10.
