Comiket 90 has come and gone, and left us with some awesome new music! Expect a few posts over time, but let’s start with Alstroemeria Records new release - ENGAGED DANCEHALL.

The “dancehall” series of albums are probably my favourite that Alstroemeria Records put out - great electo-house beats, fantastic vocals and generally mixed in to one continuous album too. Like ULTRA DANCEHALL before it, the bass on some tracks can be a bit ‘ditry’, to great effect. The first track, Gusty Beatline, is probably the best example of this (especially around the 3 minute mark).

For vocals, Unchain Pendulum and Black Eyes are probably the best but there’s a lot of competition, nomico, nachi, *mican and Mei Ayakura all contributed vocals on this album! Black Eyes is probably my favourite overall track on the album, the arrange and vocals go perfectly hand in hand - no surprise given that the arrange is by Kirin and vocals by Mei Ayakura.

The final track is new remix of Bad Apple by Nardis. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t entirely feel quite ‘there’.

Overall, I thought this was a really good album in the dancehall series. I don’t think it displaces my overall favourite (ABANDONED DANCEHALL, gotta love that ALR rewind remix of Necro Fantasia) but it’s probably one of my more favourite ones - a good mix overall with a few standout awesome tracks.

El vídeo fue transmitido primero durante la pasada convención del Comic Market 90. El Anime se estrenó el pasado mes de Abril y contará con 39 episodios.
