The room is... dark. Cold. You may not be seated in this dark space, but something tells you that there's a chill in the air. The camera has crackled and sputtered to life after so very long. The lens is cracked, and in the top left of the display, the "low battery" icon flashes violently. How it's turned on is beyond you.

There is static. So much static drowns through the speakers until a voice —a familiar voice, at that — cuts through the static wall. Piercing eyes stare back at you through the camera, but it's hard to tell their hue behind the monochrome tint.

"Well," the voice whispers. Words bounce between your right speaker, then to your left. The voice is never one volume as it shifts, and shifts, and shifts from whispers to crackling booms. "Things didn't go according to plan, hm? I suppose it's easy enough to say that time...waits for no one."

Silence once more. A low hum seems to have rooted its way through the microphone of the camera. "Another chance, perhaps? Another time? My oh my, what shall we do this time? Perhaps...another Chance to dance one last time? To see your precious little boy?"

A laugh and shrill screech slams through the feed. One by one, the time on the clock begins to reverse. The speed only quickens as the days go back from 10, to 9, to 5, to 1. To numbers that are moving oh so fast as the laughter booms and echoes.

The eyes stare at you until the display reaches 00:00:00:00. Time waits for no one.

So I am still not done with the short story all the way, and IDK when it will be, (tomorrow is Mother Llama’s birthday and she’s been preoccupied with napping 😓). But I at least wanted to show the cover art/CG, whatever you wanna call it! 😘

ok so like despite the fact that i have 8 fics in my wip folder (12 docs overall but i have separate fic and plot docs ok i need to stay organized somehow) thanks to @williexmercer i now have ANOTHER that’s titled fanboy willex and the doc is just full of random ideas such as

bffs willie and carrie (and also julie and flynn obv)

convincing their parents they’re going on a college tour not following a band around california

the guys actually going on college tours with them bc reasons

many tour shenanigans that likely get some or all of them into some kinda trouble

lots of flirting between alex and willie and they’re SO OBVIOUSLY in love but refuse to admit it

a tiny spot of drama but it all turns out ok bc Them’s The Rules

i just need this fic in my life ok it has to be written like immediately bc willie is basically me in college and i am always down to relive that lmfao
