A 1960s view of the Long Island Arena, the onetime home of the basketball Nets and the Long Island Ducks hockey team of the rough & tumble Eastern Hockey League.  The oversized quonset hut was also site of rock concerts (Hot Tuna once famously played a 5+ hour gig here in 1976) and various flea markets.  The arrival of the Nassau Coliseum rendered the cavernous arena obsolete and it was eventually demolished, replaced (in typical Long Island fashion) by a shopping center.  Image source: pinterest.com.
