COMMANDER EROL

🎟️ SEXUALITY HEADCANON: Pansexual but in the "any sexual partner I can beat to shit is good enough for me" sort of way. Erol is very rarely attracted to people so much as he is to submission and subjugation. (There are two known exceptions to this rule.)

⚧️ GENDER HEADCANON: He identifies as a cisgender man, but only because he's in a position that requires him to give a hypermasculine presentation, something his height doesn't help with at all. In actuality gender only matters to him as set dressing, it's presentation only, which makes him kinda agender. The culture in which he exists would never allow him to come to terms with this—but he certainly has no issue with being turned into a sexless robot.

💕 A SHIP: Razer/Erol, once again, the racing lunatic OTP reigns supreme. Also he's obsessed with Jak, but that's not a relationship it's a felony. He's also genuinely interested in Keira, they understand each other in a way that he's never experienced with anyone but Razer.

🖇️ A BROTP: Erol+Torn, when they were in the KG together. I like to think that they had a sort of friendly rivalry, with Erol constantly telling Torn he was going to take his position someday—and then Torn got "killed" trying to protect the Sacred Site, stealing Erol's opportunity to take the position legitimately, so he spends the rest of his career trying to prove that he earned it even though he'll never feel like he did. Regardless of his Underground affiliation post Dead Town, he would never have forgiven Torn for that.

🚫 A NOTP: I don't actually see Erol as being particularly shippable in the way that I ship characters, so basically...everything except Razer/Erol.

💭 A RANDOM HEADCANON: Erol's mechanization post-accident was the result of Praxis refusing to give up one of his most useful tools. They'd been working with dark eco for years via the Dark Warrior Project; because Erol was exposed to an extreme amount of it in his crash, Veger and his butchers were able to stabilize him and another unit set about reassembling him. He wasn't finished by the time Praxis died, but the automated systems in the war factory where he was being "treated" continued their work after the fact, which is why part of him has been put together to look normal, but the rest is obviously using KG bot parts. Erol woke up a few months later with no concept of what the fuck happened and the Dark Makers howling in his head, and set about tearing the world apart as ordered. Ever the obedient attack dog.

🗣️GENERAL OPINION: While he's not my favorite antagonist, Erol is undeniably the best antagonist in the series. He's obsessive and selfish and it's easy to write him off as evil in his arrogance—and then he waxes poetic about Keira's skill as a mechanic, then he begs Praxis to let him fight the Metalheads directly, then he lets Jak got when he wins their race fairly. He's desperate to end the war that's been his entire life, he's desperate to be the best at something that matters. As he exists in-canon, there is no part of him that's a good person, I wouldn't argue that, but he has a surprising amount of character depth.

Elle dessine bien hein OuO  Erol qui a un moment d'absence en voyant... ça. • Keira: Tu n'es pas marrant.  Erol qui se moque de la petite taille de Keira (pour une fois qu'il y a quelqu'un de plus petit que lui *out*): par exemple elle voulait aller quelque part ou participer à un truc, mais elle est trop petite/jeune pour y aller (n'oublions pas que Keira a 14 ans quand elle arrive à Abriville!) • Keira: Ce pu%@& de truc me fait chier!!  Erol choqué par le vocabulaire de Keira. Ouais, je la vois bien juré comme un charretier quand elle bosse (alors que normalement elle est de plutôt calme). • Keira qui s'est dessinée. • Keira: Alors? Ce cœur de glace fonderait-il pour une femme en particulier?  Keira qui interfère un peu trop dans la vie privée d'Erol. • Ce dessin de Keira avec les cordes est un peu particulier:  C'est une idée de "DLC" à mon histoire de Jak: Redemption (celui que j'appelle souvent grossièrement "Jak 5"). Dans cette histoire, Keira partirait à la recherche d'Erol (qui  n'est pas mort après le 3 et est en exil) pour essayer de le convaincre de revenir parmi eux. Comme dans mon headcanon Keira et Erol sont devenus très proches (je le répète, pas de romance, plutôt frère/sœur), je me disais qu'il serait plus logique que Keira parte à la recherche de celui qu'elle considère comme son frère (au lieu de danser le twerk dans son garage *out*) • Keira: Pourquoi personne ne me prend jamais au sérieux?  Erol: Mmh... peut-être parce que tu as de la suie sur le visage.  Keira: Très drôle Erol. Keira est la plus jeune du groupe, beaucoup la considère comme une enfant et ne la tienne pas au courant des choses importantes, la considérant comme trop jeune (même si en fait elle très mature pour son âge). • Un autre petit dessin de Keira. • Erol: Je vois que ce Jak a quelques "privilèges".  Keira: N... Non... pas du tout! Erol qui nargue Keira car il a déniché un petit mot d'elle où il est écrit "Jak" entouré de plein de cœurs... c'est une ado, elle est un peu con con des fois *out* * * * Some sketches. OuO   Erol who has a moment's absence when he sees... this. • Erol who's scoffing at the small size of Keira (for once there is someone smaller than him *out*): for example she wanted to go somewhere or participate in something, but she is too small/young to go (let's not forget that Keira is only 14 years old when she arrives in Abriville!). • Erol is shocked by Keira's vocabulary. Yeah, I see her swearing like troopers when she's working (while normally she's pretty quiet). • Keira who has drawn herself. • Keira who's interfering a little too much with Erol's privacy. • This drawing of Keira with the strings is a bit peculiar:   It's an idea of "DLC" to my Jak: Redemption story (the one I often coarsely call "Jak 5"). In this story, Keira would go in search of Erol (who did not die after the 3rd game and is in exile) to try to convince him to come back among them. As in my headcanon Keira and Erol became very close (I repeat, no romance, rather brother/sister), I thought it would be more logical for Keira to go in search of the one she considers her brother (instead of dancing the twerk in her garage *out*) • Keira is the youngest in the group, many consider her to be a child and don't keep her informed about important things, considering her too young (although she is in fact very mature for her age). • Another small drawing of Keira. • Erol who taunts Keira because he found a little note of her where it says "Jak" surrounded by lots of hearts... she's a teenager, she's a bit stupid sometimes *out*

I said I'd draw RazErol if it made it onto the bracket for @thecrackshipawards, and against all odds it did, and I'm keeping my word! It's been so long since I drew them that I'm super uninspired, though, so I snipped four poses that I thought would be fun from this kissing meme that I saved ages ago, and I'm putting it to a vote.

I don’t really have a comment for this, it looks how I wanted it to look and I hope everyone likes it. Erol is a creep, but someday Jak will blow him up so it’s...fine. Yeah.

I realized that these weren’t on my new blog? The character shots I’ve done for Voltafaccia, the AU where Jak gets raised by Gol and Maia instead of Samos and the people of Sandover. (With a side of original flavor Jak and Dax up at the top there, but there are reasons for that.)

In order, characters and the act of the fic from which the design is taken:

I’m actually getting ready to post the third chapter of this fic sometime this week, so I wanted to get the art off my compromised blog and post it here.

You are the supreme weapon, Jak. And I made you. Still, any leader worth his salt always has a backup plan.

So I have this whole running theory of how Erol got mechanized in between Jak II and 3, mostly involving Praxis being utterly unwilling to give up his most useful toy just as the metalhead wars were reaching a distinct crescendo. 

This means that whatever was left of him after the crash was somewhere under the prison getting rebuilt piece by piece while everything went down following the class 1 race.

What if someone found him before the process was finished?
