Most of the sources I’ve come across have said that the Commanders’ masks are based on the Chinese Zodiac animals and I think thats badass
However I don’t think I’ve seen someone make a list of what animal specifically each mask is so I took it upon myself to do that (with help from my dear twin sister @amnesiaskulls)
Also big spoilers for Commander stuff past Route Zero!! Read at your own risk!
Don’t expect this to be super comprehensible I had a long ass day at work so I am ZONKED
Okay the first thing I noticed is that almost EVERY SOURCE has UNANIMOUSLY AGREED that at the very least: Murvrum is the Rat. I thought the exact same thing until I was assigning each Commander an animal by researching the skeleton (skulls specifically) of all 12 animals and coming across a really funny realization: oh my god rat and rabbit skulls look a lot alike
Dw I go more in depth on this topic later
Next is Pakron! Very straightforward answer.
Next up is Addamaque (Amnesia noticed this right away lol). I had a lot of fun researching tiger bones hehe
Go my Parmith
They’re definitely the goat but this will come back to haunt me later
Okay now it’s time for the pain that is rabbit vs rodent skulls aka Murvrum vs Quenzelle
I feel like im going nuts but heres my incomprehensible analysis of why Quenzelle is the rat instead of Murvrum in more than just a design way (I reach a little bit i think but thats okay) (I could still be wrong ToT)
I don’t even know how to explain this it just makes sense to me
Okay now that we’re past that it’s time for Eva my be-something-ed (i feel no love nor hate towards her yet)
I actually love Valla-Garzo so much
Can you tell this text is mostly just here to separate the images
And now his beautiful wife who sucked to research
I was going to make the same horse joke again istg
Did you know Nyewgank’s Japanese VA voiced Dwayne in the Japanese Dub of Ninjago
“Nyewgank give me a beat”
Also Murvrum’s dad is included in this
OKAY IM ACTUALLY REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE BUT IM EXHAUSTED AND OFF MY MEDS RN SO I’LL SCREAM ABOUT IT SOME OTHER TIME (also she’s not the dog we checked so many skulls just in case)
—
okay tldr:
Murvrum - Rabbit
Pakron - Ox
Addamaque - Tiger
Parmith - Goat
Quenzelle - Rat
Eva - Snake
Valla-Garzo - Ram (Goat again)
Szanshin - Dog
Zen’ta - Horse
Nyewgank - Rooster
Turamtammi - Dragon
Dahl’xia - Pig
V’ehxness - Monkey
I am no bone expert but I am neurodivergent so I’m committed to being as correct as possible for my own sanity
Okay I actually finished this a hot second ago I’ve just been too nervous to actually post it lol
(This post has implied Route Zero Spoilers in the form of names and images)

I think a lot of people know by now that the invader’s language isn’t just random jargon, but it’s actually just Japanese in a different script!
Aka: It’s possible to translate their words with the proper context on which kana is which; for example Murvrum/Muvuvumu’s name is spelt as むゔゔむ, which can be seen in his battle introduction:
Using two very helpful already made guides on the known Invader alphabet (linked below) and my own conclusions based on context clues (ex: finding そ “So” thanks to Valla-Garzo/Baragaruzo’s name including ぞ “Zo”), I’ve compiled most of the language into a font that you can use!
———
IMPORTANT NOTE: This font is incomplete! I made this completely for free, which means I had to use a font making website with a character limit (Calligraphr.com for anyone who’s interested lol).
Character like ぢ “Di” DO exist in Futuran, but I had to cut some corners to be able to include the fundamentals like “little” kana and the characters explicitly shown in the Commander names. In the future, I’m definitely gonna try completing this font.

This first source helped me out a bunch with getting started on translating (I am so grateful for the table oh my GOD) and includes some really cool pronunciation facts as well as differences between the Japanese and English versions of the game! It’s also really impressive that op was able to figure this out from the DEMO???

This source is in Japanese! It helped me out a bunch with figuring out how characters like は “Ha”, ば “Ba”, and ぱ “Pa”, as well as あ and ぁ work in Futuran! Amazing work.

Here’s the actual font: (If you use this font, you don’t have to credit me! I mean it would always be appreciated but I’m not gonna make you lol)
(Also I’m very sure it works in both Ibispaint X and Procreate before anyone asks)
The font is called “Shinkosei” (しんこせい) because that’s what the Invaders are called in Japanese; definitely a detail that I wanted to include! (I also added “Futuran” at the end so you know which font it is if you won’t remember what the fuck that means lol)
———
Finally (the important part), here’s a guide to which kana is which! (Please read my rambles afterwards!)
———
I heavily encourage adding the dakuten (は to ば) or handakuten (は to ぱ) manually if the font doesn’t provide it! Just because the font doesn’t have ぢ “Do” doesn’t change that it’s just ち “To” with the dakuten equivalent on the side! Same with all the “P” kana being “H” with a handakuten equivalent underneath it.
ALSO! THE VERSION OF THE EXCLAMATION POINT FOR THIS FONT IS THE ONE THE ENGLISH KEYBOARD USES.
Not the same the Japanese keyboard uses. Don’t ask me why Calligraphr defaulted to the wrong one, I tried to fix it ToT (Hopefully if I ever complete this font I can get that changed)
———
If you’re going to try using this font with Japanese words, make sure to triple check what your sentence means is ACTUALLY WHAT YOU WANT IT TO MEAN!! DON’T JUST USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE BECAUSE IT SUCKS!! I’m talking look up each individual word in an online dictionary if you aren’t familiar with it! Learn about first, second, and third person pronouns and how ゔ “Vu” is used to make other “V” sounds!
Also keep in mind that this font doesn’t support Kanji, and look up how to use the Japanese keyboard if you aren’t sure what to do; I’m not gonna help you with that, I’m just the guy who made the font lol
———
Important note: Shinkosei doesn’t seem to use periods at the end of sentences. It either ends without punctuation, a “…” , or an exclamation point. Here’s a few examples of the Commanders using the language so you can understand the structure better!
(Actual Spoilers for Route Zero below, otherwise this is the end of the post!)

I love all of the Commanders so much istg I’m not even gonna lie when I say the whole reason I made this font was for a comic for my Swap Au ToT (Which I am working on)
