Okay but ugghhhh Cornsupes!Clark would make Battinson!Bruce absolutely crazy in completely the opposite way than DCU Clark makes his Bruce crazy… Here is this man who is coming out of an incredibly long period of deep depression, self destruction and vengeance, just finding his hope, finally giving him self permission to move on from the past and have a future, finding his drive to really help people in whatever way he can, who has finally found the edges of all the pain he’s been carrying and trying to peel them back, and then there’s Clark, who inspires everything Bruce wants to be in the people around him, who lifts people up, who bends but never breaks, who is so, so gentle..,,,,,, I am SICK about them….,,

I’ve started reading longfic as epub downloads in the books app instead of from ao3 directly and I may never be able to go back I fear

it keeps my place instead of reloading and losing it, means I don’t need internet if I’m reading on the go or during an outage as long as I download first, and it encourages you to comment at the end so I’ve been commenting a lot more on fics I want to go back and bookmark :)

Getting a new laptop soon… thinking about trying to run it on Linux instead of windows 👀

My brother said he’d help me out with it bc he’s better with computers than me & that it’s not actually hard to set up or run, but if anyone has some advice/tips/stuff you wish you knew I’d love to hear it

Every six months I rediscover like 7 very scrunky comics I made like 5 years ago and I am so tempted to just post em. I’ve got one Tiger and Bunny one, at least 3 Saiki K ones and a few Haikyuu ones that I probably won’t share cause I’m not that into it at the moment.

I don’t post about all my fandoms on this blog but I think it says a lot about me that Newton Geiszler, Saiki Kusuo and Ishigami Senku are like 3 of my top blorbos. Wrench Watchdogs 2 is a bit of an outlier, but Spock is probably my top blorbo of all time like I REALLY have a type.

I really liked the first 2 seasons of Dr Stone - it wasn’t what I was expecting and it didn’t go as far as I would have liked with some aspects but it’s a fun show with cute characters. In terms of fandom I was kind of hoping for more digging into a slightly more emotionally deep/realistic look at how the events of the first season might affect the characters, or more in depth elaboration on Senku’s character tho :0

I do think sengen and senkasa(?) are fun ships & I also like aroace Senku but I need MORE I need more MEAT on these bones.

Senuk was alone and awake in the stone world for 6 months - not to even get into being partially conscious in complete sensory deprivation for 3700 years - and I want to GET INTO how that would affect him and how the hell he survived and how he kept it together because that would mess with anyones head. I want them to worry about dying from exposure and infection and care for each other through that. I want the old world humans to talk about the things they miss and their fears about living without modern technology and losing the people they love even if it’s temporary. AND THAT SENKU LOSING HIS DAD IS PERMANENT UNLIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I want to pick out the emotional and the survival aspects of the show and push them further!!!! That’s what I really like about fandoms for these kinds of shows n I feel like I’m just not seeing it :( Also I know that part of Senku’s character is that he acts detached, but it is an act, and I want to explore why he acts that way and what’s under that act. )

This is not a criticism of the fandom or other fans btw it’s just my onion 🧅 I like the fandom, I’m just kind of interested in different aspects than most people seem to be.

I’m not like an amazing writer or anything but I HAVE been on fanfic sites for a good few years and the #1 one advice I have for new writers who are nervous or unsure about posting is USE YOUR SUMMARY

it’s okay if you’re bad at summaries! but if that’s the first thing you tell your reader you are knocking their confidence in your writing ability and giving them a reason to scroll past it. here’s where the advice comes in -

if you don’t know what to do for the summary: just take a section you like from your fic, about 50 to 100 words ish and use that. You can also change it slightly to make it function better as a summary; it doesn’t have to be exactly the same as it is in the fic. Adding a little summary underneath is optional but can be a good low pressure way to dip your toe in.

My OTHER advice for getting hits is to tag really well - learn form the tags other people use and apply them to ur work where appropriate. ao3 will also give suggestions for existing tags as you type!
