What do you think the odds are Bungie will increase the time we have to give commendations this season? Because I can't give them between matches for gambit or crucible because the next match is starting before the screen even loads, and I've seen other people have tbe same issue. Hard to raise your commendation score if you can't get or give them because it times out 99% of the time :/
I really, REALLY hope they do this. I played so many matches of Gambit and Mayhem this week where like. Barely anyone would use commendations because the screen is just so short. A lot of people instantly leave as well, but a lot are probably just in their menus looking at weapons they got and they just do not have time to click out and realise there's commendations to give.
It has to be a longer screen or some other method to give them after the match is done. It would be cool if you could give them while checking "previous match" screen and for it to be valid until you enter a new match.
Commendations
This system in my opinion is a cool idea. I think itâs great to show your fellow guardians a level of appreciation.
My score is 913 and this is the breakdown
29% Ally
31% Mastery
21% Fun
17% Leadership
A trio of comms in a roulette got Aeryn the âEverybodyâs Darlingâ achievement finally, and so I grabbed my Gilded Magitek Armor.
This is one of the lore sources of the alloyed gilding Garleans use as a magic defense, hence Gaiusâ costume change in Praetorium; heâs triggering a personal magic defense system to fight the WoL.
Awards and Commendations
Although still fairly young, Belost has managed to achieve a handful of service ribbons and medals over the years. Ribbons tend to be the more common of the awards given, generally through a high ranking officerâs discretion, while medals are typically only given with high honors and after an approval board or high command official has signed off on it.
Distinguished Service - The Distinguished Service ribbon, more specifically the Army Distinguished Service ribbon, is given for exceptional service in a vital role.
Search and Rescue Heroism - The Search and Rescue ribbon may be given to any service member who participates in a successful search and rescue operation. The Search and Rescue with Heroism ribbon is awarded to a service member who participates in a successful search and rescue operation while in an active combat zone.
Army Commendation - The Army Commendation ribbon is given to any member of the Galra Army who has shown strength, bravery, and exceptional performance consistently over multiple deployments.
Joint Force Meritorious Service - The Joint Force Meritorious Service ribbon is presented to those who routinely perform joint operations with exceptional quality. This is a common medal for Trackers as they are regularly commissioned from the Army by the Navy.
Wounded Combat Merit - The Wounded Combat Merit ribbon is given to any service member who successfully completes a mission despite being wounded.
Combat Tour Veteran - The Combat Tour Veteran ribbon is only given to those who have taken part in no less than ten separate tours of combat. Non-combatant roles such as technicians or scientists who may be present during a tour are also eligible if stationed in a war zone.
Tracker Distinguished Service Medal - The Tracker Distinguished Service Medal is given to Trackers who have proven themselves to be integral to the success of major victories across the Empire. Only those who have been personally recommended by a member of Galra high command may be eligible to receive this commendation.
Campaign Veteran Medal - The Campaign Veteran Medal will be awarded to soldiers who take part in at least twenty successful campaigns. Unsuccessful campaigns are not considered and the recipient must have been deemed to have taken part in the actual victory, been wounded during the campaign, or have played a significant role in the campaignâs victory.
Torrick Campaign Victory Medal - The Torrick Campaign Victory Medal is given to those who took place in the Torrick Campaign, one of the bloodiest military campaigns in recent Galra history. Not all campaigns are given their own medal. The ones that do are typically considered a major victory for the Empire.
I just wanted to send a quick thank you for your blog! I have been at a spiritual crossroads for a long time (you know, like a good "raised Catholic"), and had felt called to death work but had no idea who or what was calling to me. I found your blog after I started looking for more information on Hel, and your writings on Her helped solidify my thoughts. It has only been a few weeks, but I feel like this is what I was looking for. Thank you <3
Aaaah! You are so sweet! Iâm so glad that you have had a positive experience with my lady, Hel. Sheâs been such a wonderful teacher in my life. Working with her profoundly changed how I approach feelings surrounding death, and even how I approach daily life.
One of my mentorâs once told meÂ
âWe cannot be certain Death is our friend, but she is our ally.âÂ
After my accident, I found myself crippled by PTSD and fear of experiencing another one that I wouldnât survive. Hel taught me how to confront that fear and work to accept it. I didnât learn to live without fear of death but rather the acceptance of death as a natural part of life rather than an enemy.Â
Through compassion and grief, sheâs taught me to live more courageously in the face of the possibility of impending death. In many ways, her lessons began my journey to myself. I hope that she can do the same for you.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with me,
đElisa

ETA: also realizing that Danny and Joeâs badges, as shown here, are hilariously impossible. Danny could not have a number of #455 unless he enlisted in like 1850, and Joeâs #212 is also short by a couple of digits AND is the NYC area codeâŚ
