This week, we're celebrating Just Leave a Comment Fest!

Today, comment on an OLD FIC! Here's a couple ways to do that:

Easy longfic version: check out last year’s Big Bang fics! Go to this tumblr tag, scroll till one strikes your fancy, and READ AND COMMENT!!

Easy AU version: head to the JanAU or AUpril collections, find one you haven’t read, and READ AND LEAVE A COMMENT!

CHALLENGE VERSION: Generate a random number between 1-775 by going here! Then copy this link and change the last number of it to your number, and read something on that page… AND COMMENT!!

So, there is a "comment fest" that is being started by someone on Tumblr and it mentions that some people do not "appreciate constructive criticism".

I want to make my stance on that clear: I want constructive criticism on things I am being paid to do well. Writing fanfic is not one of those. If I start getting constructive criticism comments on my fics, I will stop posting on Ao3 because my hobby is no longer a safe hobby.

Just don't be an asshole and give unsolicited constructive criticism to people doing what amounts to and is free labor. And yes, that includes the new writers asking for it. Do not give it.

NateJo CommentFest!

The incredible @droumack is hosting/sponsoring/creating a NateJo fanfic CommentFest and I wanted to join in! I've so far not even posted any NateJo fics (though I have several almost ready to be published!), so there's not even a chance you can make a bingo with only my fics, anyway.

Rules:

If multiple authors end up participating, please do not recycle your bingos. You can get the same bingo (IE, do the same tasks) but they must be on new fics. This is more of an honor system rule but please don't be that guy 😭

Have you heard about Marginal March? It’s a prompt / comment event focused on minor characters. From… anything. I left some prompts and it gave me Guestfest memories

all done with commentfest for the year!

i left coments on 94 number of fics from my history, of them 39 were rated G-T. 51 had fewer than 15 comments and of those i was the first comment on 7 of them. i commented on 4 multi chapter fics for 8 comments total

for a grand total of 102 comments left this season

i read a lot so i only focused on fics from my current fandoms (WTNV and TMA) which was 33 pages of AO3 history. i got to about page 16 leaving comments on all the G-T rated fics and then got burnt out, so i just went thru and left comments on all the fics i could recall from just the summary alone. this was no where near the amount of comments i wanted to leave, but it took me 10 hours and i got pretty tired so i had to stop. i have a huge pile of multichapters i wasnt able to get to, but another time
