I loved commitment !!! Like it had me at the edge of my seat 👏🏽👏🏽 amazing!!
Aw thank you so much, Nonnie! I really appreciate it! I’m hoping sometime this week I’ll get out of my heavily seasoned depression funk and start working on stuff again.
I’ve had a part 2 of that half way written, among other things. Thank you for stopping by and telling me how much you liked it ❤️ I appreciate your words, and you, more than you know 💜 much love

Goodreads Summary
In the words of DJ Khaled, "Another One" as in Nia has graced us with ANOTHER extremely entertaining, well written, sometimes hard to read for sheer fear of what was going to happen next. Masterpiece. I think Chris might be my new favorite. The dynamic between Robyn and Chris is so refreshing. I love that he lets her be who she wants to be and even encourages it regardless of how much he might not agree with or even approve of her whims. And I love that while Robyn is this successful powerhouse of an attorney with a strong head on her shoulders and a clear idea of her goals and what she wants out of life, she isn't ashamed of or even afraid to admit that she worships the ground Chris walks on and puts a lot of importance in his feelings and opinions on things and will do or not do something depending on his say. And it's not because she's weak or subservient. It because she knows that Chris loves and adores her just the same. In her words, "he would unhinge the stars and the moon if she asked for them" and she knows that he would never take advantage of the power he has over her. He would never stifle her inner beast or try and clip her wings. But boy did she push him to the point of wanting to do just that, from the very beginning of this book. It's so crazy how quickly the tables turned between one book and the next. In Afterwards I was 100% team Robyn. But in this book, as soon as she STARTED talking all her mess, I was team Chris all the way. There were SEVERAL times while reading this book, where I was just like GIRL WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!? Nia knows how to stress me out! I loved reading this book though. I love how all the family elements are tied in but it doesn't make the story drag. I enjoy all of the mentions of Chris and Robyn's work and actually getting to see them DO that work. Too many times in books, authors will base a large part of a character's identity and development on what they do for a living but never SHOW them doing their job. That isn't an issue in Nia's books because she consistently weaves her characters professions and work into her stories so that not only is it seamless but it also helps move the story along. Of everything there is to love about this book though, what I enjoyed and appreciated the most, is the transformation and growth that Chris went through. Let's all be honest here. Regardless of his success, drive and determination to be the best businessman in the world, Chris was a straight up FUCK BOY. When it came to relationships and especially when it came to being a father, he was NOT doing what he was supposed to. Paying an exorbitant amount of child support does not a Dad make... But there was a sincere and authentic 180 with Chris in Afterburn and I couldn't be more proud. Watching him develop a relationship with his children and enjoy their time together. LOVED IT! Gotta love character development!!! Apparently Lil Chris a.k.a Deuce has his own little love story, so I'm definitely going to check that out before I continue on to the final two books in this series

Goodreads Summary
I usually hate novellas, but when it's based on a well developed and explored couple like Tracy and Brendan, novellas are treats. Nia knows how to do angst VERY well. It never feels overdone, annoying or contrived. There's always just the right amount of intensity. It's like she's gotten it down to a science. It's the kind of angst with just enough doubt and uncertainty worked in that you're never really sure that the angst won't actually lead to the demise of a relationship you're rooting for. (view spoiler) My complete enjoyment of this book and the before it is actually pretty ironic and a compliment to Nia's ability as a romance author. Because usually when a couple has as tumultuous as a relationship that Tracy and B have, I'm the first one yelling "Just let each other go!" but the complete opposite happens when I'm reading about them. I'm instead sitting up late, sick as a dog, can barely get through a page without blowing my nose, but so engrossed and invested in them and the success of their relationship that I just had to power through. Nia! God, I'm hoping that after months of searching I can finally add another black author who writes about Black Love and Black Excellence and does so on a consistent basis, to my current list of ONE. The next book in this series is Afterwards" and it's about the mogul and boss man Chris Scaife. Have to say, I'm pretty damn excited to see if the beast can be tamed. Recommendation: If my half-assed review wasn't enough. This series so far has been stressful, entertaining, swoon worthy and fun as hell to read. Literally, something you can pick up and be engrossed in from beginning to end no matter what kind of reading mood you're in.
