Guys, I yapped too close to the fanfiction writing sun

That is to say, I was rambling about Bucky Barnes yesterday and then it gave me a fic idea and now I can't get it out of my head so of course I've decided I have to do something about it.

You'll be pleased to know that I've written approximately 200 words, my planning notes currently look like this

And then there was Sam. Their connection hadn't been totally severed just yet. They were still talking (kind of) which put them half a step above where they were when Bucky spent six months electing to ignore every text that Sam had sent his way after Steve's departure. Well, that's what Bucky was choosing to tell himself at least. In some ways, the infrequent messages and frosty conversations were worse. Like an inevitable car crash happening in slow motion, or Bucky feeling like he was falling from that freight train again at half the speed. At least if Sam hated him, Bucky would know where they stood.
