Remember when Amity gave Luz a fairy pie?

What if Amity discovered the hard way that humans can't eat fairies, and that led to her becoming very cautious about the weaknesses of humans. Then, when her human girlfriend got sick, she went into crisis mode, because after the fairy pie, she's not willing to take any chances.

That would explain why she exclaimed "She's a human, we have no idea how it will affect her" over an illness that's otherwise harmless. Amity wants to understand and nurture her girlfriend's human needs.
