Working on the Border Riding itch page while I wait for feedback to come in on a freelance project :3

Been picking at it for days with a warm cream background and it just wasn't working. I've tried flipping things and going with a dark aubergine background instead!

Last night was Border Riding's launch event!

At Argonaut Books we listened to Jo read part of her essay in the history behind Common Riding festivals, chatted about the publishing and film making industries, and which village's ride is the most (it's Peebles)

Then we packed into Ancient Robot Games and played Border Riding! It was so great to see loads of folks scribbling, folding maps, building communities and making new friends 🥰

Working on a draft layout for Jo Reid's essay/zine for Border Riding. It's all about the history of common ridings, the practice that inspired her game. The zine is all monocolour and type and gridlines and tasty stuff like that, and there's space for some extra illustration :>

Thinking the cover will be a lovely warm green and the pages will be a rich cream-yellow with purple ink. Also risoprinted? Designing this feels same as kicking my heels and twirling my hair, it's so cute haha

Friday 15th SEP 23! 7pm - 10pm! Join author Jo Reid at Argonaut Books for a live reading of 'On Common Riding', paired with a Q&A about their experiences with publishing.
