Am I Just a Shadow of Your Past?
Dear readers and listeners, I rarely share something personal about myself so here it goes. This song cuts deep, it's so relevant to me. I share it for anyone out there who might need to feel seen, held, or reminded you are not alone... I see you.
"Equinox" represents a meeting of the dark and the light...when the sun and the moon both appear in the sky. It’s a reflection of a period in my life that’s been both tragic and transformative...the loss of my father, the birth of a new me. Not a reinvention...an emergence. Forged through fire, softened by grace, and ready to rise.
Common Saints is the solo project of London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Charlie J. Perry.
The EP is a 15-minute journey through late-60s and 70s-inspired rock, with “Equinox” standing out as a soul-stirring, psychedelic centerpiece. This duality of light and dark, grief and growth is embedded in the song’s echoic and emotional layers. The equinox itself, a celestial moment of balance, becomes a metaphor for my own reckoning with loss and rebirth.
