Communications Class 8/31

I felt that todays class was very refreshing. I enjoyed being able to discuss different ways that people and cultures communicate together, and how those communications are interpreted. Also, I enjoyed being able to talk about subjects  that could be seen as “touchy” or “awkward” in a normal (out of classroom) setting.

I seriously need to get a life. And like really get out of my comfort zone. Socialize and talk more. I’d say that I’m pretty good in speaking the English language in written form and even my mom’s friends praise me or like give compliments to me when they see me posting my thoughts / realizations in life etc on facebook. Yet I am not confident enough when speaking the language and I can’t seem to compose my sentences properly. I really wanted to speak in English but I get shy plus if I do some of my friends will be like ‘nuxx sosyal’ or ‘konyo’ and worst thing is they would be telling me that I’m ‘maarte’ since I came from an all girls school.

I’m really thankful that the schools I went into really honed my ability in using the english language. Cos even back in highschool we are required to speak in english. Each part of the school is an english speaking zone. Also I enjoyed all of my english/communication subjects especially the ones that requires us to write. I honestly like writing letters and such.

Speaking the language itself is a different version. I’m really kind of having a hard time communicating verbally. One is I get really shy and nervous at the same. Two, I seem to be intimidated by the person I’m talking to especially when they speak really well. Three, I can’t compose my sentences right away. I don’t even like talking on the phone. Sometimes when people call me I don’t answer my phone and just text them afterwards. Or when they send me voice messages I still respond via text message. But I really want to change that habbit. I want to be more confident and be better in speaking. I want to enhance my speaking abilities and not be afraid to talk to people.
