Today I had the privilege to perform in a dance showcase and take part in engaging our community in arts appreciation. This ended with teaching people a line dance and leading a conga line.
It was one of those times that, despite what was happening elsewhere, the positive energy was so strong and infectious that it just seemed to radiate from everywhere and everyone in the space. When I'm performing or watching a performance, I'm not worrying about who is on which side, our world leaders, our belief systems, our differences, or our inner demons. I am just living. I am living and experiencing the highest and most pure form of freedom I have ever felt. It is my belief and hope that those I share the performance space with experience this too, in their own ways.
I am thankful every day to be a part of this community and to have the privilege of making art within it.
