Community Clean Up
In need some kind of extra curricular activity to keep you busy when you’re at home, or to put on your resume? Tired of seeing broken links littered throughout the tags, masterlists, and the library? Enjoy playing detective, keeping things organized, or just plain obsessively keeping up with your favorite phanfics?
Great, because The Phanfiction Catalogue needs your help!
Introducing Community Clean Up!
What is it?
An event where the whole of the Phanfiction Community can get involved helping us to fix broken links scattered throughout the catalogue! We’ll be attempting to clean up all of the broken links from deleted authors & fics, to url & site changes!
How does it work?
Approximately once a week, The Phanfiction Catalogue Admins will create and link to a spreadsheet detailing what links we will be fixing this week!
For example; This Week: Masterlists Beginning with the Letter A!
Every week will have a different category of links to be fixed, based on our tags, masterlists, and library categories!
Only find and fix links that fall under this category! This will help us to keep organized and work our way steadily through the blog in an orderly fashion!
How can I get involved?
Merely watch our Community Clean Up tag to find out what masterlists, tags, or library categories we’re working on this week, and go ahead and get fixing! Just remember to focus your attempts on the tag, masterlist, or library category we directed you towards, that way we are all able to focus our attention on cleaning up one category at a time!
Great, where do I get started?
Approximately every week, the Phanfiction Catalogue Admins will set up a new spreadsheet and make a post in the Community Clean Up tag describing what category we’ll be working on this week, and directing you straight to the google spreadsheet! We’ll make sure to reblog this throughout the week, with the Admins making the actual changes to the Phanfictioncatalogue.
Depending on how many broken links there are, and how quickly we’re able to keep up with your fixes, we’ll create a new spreadsheet about a week later, potentially longer, and lock the first spreadsheet for our eyes only while you guys set out to fix the next section of broken links!
How do I use the spreadsheet?
It’s super simple! We’ve outlined the categories across the top of the spreedsheet. All you have to do is fill in the necessary information! If you click on or hover over the cell containing the category you’re unsure about, an explanation will appear for what we mean by each category!
If the category is non applicable, please put an - . If you do not know the information, leave the space blank. This will allow you to point out broken links to other users, and let them and us know if you could not find the missing information.
Here is an Example
Link Fixed: This is for admin use only. Leave Blank. Masterlist Name: 2009x2015 Masterlist Masterlist #: 3 Fic Name: Bridging The Age Gap Broken Link: http://insanityplaysfics.tumblr.com/post/118565301483/bridging-the-age-gap Deleted Fic?: - Deleted Author?: - Url Change?: Yes New URL: snowbunnylester New Link: http://snowbunnylester.tumblr.com/post/118565301483/bridging-the-age-gap Masterlst Up To Date: Yes IF this is the last link that needs to be fixed for there to be no broken links left on the masterlist.
