It’s been brought to my attention that #challengeaccepted ordinated in Turkey, in order to spread awareness of the femicide happening there, to stand up and symbolize the constant black and white pictures they saw each morning of women who had been killed, but that message was somehow lost along the way... . . . I was tagged by other female entrepreneurs/creators in an effort to support and amplify one another, and, while I’m proud of our community both online and locally, and grateful to be a part of it, I want to use the small platform I have to raise awareness of the origin. . . . Women supporting women and community over competition will always be something I stand behind, but we also have to acknowledge that support can’t end there. How’s everyone feeling about the reopening of the world? . . . To be honest, I’m nervous. . . I’m nervous that, out of desperation to get ‘back to normal’, it’ll all be too soon and cause a resurgence, and all of this will have been for nothing. I’m nervous about what this means for the rest of the year, and the industry I’ve invested so much of myself into. I’m nervous about the additional precautions I need to make to ensure the safety of myself, my team, and my clients. I’m nervous about the loss of income, not just for myself, but for everyone, and the impact it’ll have as we move forward. I’m nervous about the unknown. . . I’m anxious to get back to my brides, back to creating with actual humans, back to being a part of vibrant, joyous occasions. But I’m also anxious about going back to work. I’m in such close proximity to my clients for such long durations, there are a lot of changes that have to be made, and I’m anxious about doing it right, and still being able to provide a warm, inviting, calm wedding day experience for my brides. . . To my brides, please be assured that I am dedicated to your happiness, as well as your safety, and am working on ways to protect both on your big day. Even though things will look a little different, the outcome will be exactly as we’ve planned, and you will have the amazing day you deserve. . . To my fellow vendors, how are you? Is there anything I can do for you? Is there anything you need? No matter where you are, whether it’s help from the business side of things, or you just need to vent, I’m here for you.
