You Tube comments that irritate me
Don’t get me wrong, comments are always welcome and 90% are awesome to read. But a few can annoy me from time to time.
Statements of the bleeding obvious like “I hear music”, “this is a movie”, “I’m guessing that you didn’t like it”, what’s the point of these?
Claims that I “didn’t understand” something, when in fact what I “didn’t understand” isn’t something that’s even said or conveyed in the film or show in question. It’s just a theory or interpretation that this person has. The ones that really annoy me are the ones that end with something like “how did you not get this?” or “how did you miss this?” well I didn’t, because it’s not actually said anyway, you just have a theory. Don’t get me wrong, theories are fine, I just wish people wouldn’t act like I have to believe them or I’m stupid for not believing them. I remember one particular person that claimed some guy in a film had started thinking about his friend because he saw a sign for the town where he lived. I re-watched this part of the film and I could kind of see how it could be interpreted that way, though I was tempted to argue he was already thinking about him before seeing the sign. The thing that annoyed me though, was they ended this claim by asking “how the fuck did you miss this?” missed what? You’re talking about something that’s just an interpretation, it’s never actually said or conveyed in the film.
People who correct mistakes or give me a bit of extra info about whatever it was I was talking about, but they act like a complete dick about it. Like say the info is a person is called Peter and I called them Paul, any normal person would just say “Actually that guy was called Peter not Paul”, which would be fine, in fact I appreciate comments like that. But for some reason you are required by law to be a dick to everyone on the internet so they will say something like “you fucking moron, that guy isn’t called Paul, he’s called Peter, how about doing a bit of fucking research before making a review!”
Then there’s weird terms that I just don’t get like “I don’t…”, “I just…”, “just saying”, “so…”, “so yeah” or even just “…” on its own. The fuck is that about?
Sometimes when I reply I get “I didn’t expect a reply”, then why comment at all? Or at the opposite end of the spectrum “I expected a longer reply”, that just sounds needy.
People who just think they know better, even when I inform them otherwise. “Angry video game Nerd already did ET” this was about 2008 BTW, long before that movie he did ME: “Nope” Commenter:“He has though, look at the intro, you can clearly see clips of the game in some of them” ME: “Sure, but that doesn’t mean he’s reviewed it. Look up a list of episodes on his site or on Wikipedia, you won’t find ET anywhere on there.” Commenter:“I don’t need to because I know he’s reviewed it” Oh really?! I think it’s more likely you just don’t want to discover you were wrong, either that or you’re just lazy.
