Beauty is commonly described as a feature of objects that makes them pleasurable to perceive. Such objects include landscapes, sunsets, humans and works of art. Beauty, art and taste are the main subjects of aesthetics, one of the fields of study within philosophy. As a positive aesthetic value, it is contrasted with ugliness as its negative counterpart.
These discs are BEAUTIFUL
An optical disc is a flat, usually[note 1] disc-shaped object that stores information in the form of physical variations on its surface that can be read with the aid of a beam of light. Optical discs can be reflective, where the light source and detector are on the same side of the disc, or transmissive, where light shines through the disc to be detected on the other side.

Profiles took its own look at the promise of CD-ROMs ("The New Papyrus," according to a just-published conference report) in this issue, although there was one note of caution quoted that they were only being talked up because Microsoft had just "discovered" them. Older Kaypro computers perhaps not as associated with "optical mass storage on disc" received a good bit of attention too with articles on upgrading their hardware, and there were suggestions of how to push your daisy-wheel printer to its limits and beyond.
