A real life find: These crochet hooks were at Habitat ReStore in the bins, and my girlfriend looked them up for grins...
Fifty bucks?! And I got them for $4?!
A buck fourty-five?! And Amazon wants $50?!

A look at Otto as a Hero (Request fill)
I was asked what I thought of Otto as a hero. This is my answer. I decided to throw Peter in there as well, since they’re decently balanced opposites. Both so similar, yet completely different.
First, I would say he has the right idea of how to handle violent criminals. I’ve made it clear in the past how I feel about handling mass murderers so I wont go to deep into that again. What I will say is he was also the one that finally dealt with crime lords and the kingpin where other heroes didn’t bother. (Sure it can be argued the Goblin nation came out because of that but to me it seemed more like forced plot convenience to get Peter back in, so I don’t blame Otto. Goblin was gonna do what Goblin was gonna do regardless.)
At the same time I understand why Peter as Spider-Man can’t be like this. It feels like his whole character is based on hope and overcoming adversity and bad luck, but still being a great guy that wants everyone to live. That’s why Otto is good for this. He can be the killer where Peter can’t without compromising Parker. They’re two individuals. An Otto being the one who can get his hands dirty, keeps Peter’s hands clean and ‘pure of soul’.
I think it’s a bit dumb that if Peter kills one bad guy he’ll be thrown into a downward spiral of evil, but the comics have plainly demonstrated this. [“What if? Spider-Man killed Kraven the Hunter”, “Spider-Man/Deadpool Itsy-Bitsy Story arc” to name a couple examples.]
Hell, if Peter just lies his guilt sends him into crazy nut job town. [As seen in “Spider-Man: House of M”, and “What if? Spider-Man: House of M”.] I think that says a lot more about Peter’s soul when you think about it.
Now, back to Otto, I also think he’s a good hero because he balances both brain and brawns. He plans ahead of time. Not only for the current threat but for future ones as well. He’s efficient and he can more easily balance his personal responsibilities as well as his super hero responsibilities.
Peter is better at spur of the moment action and can think quickly on his feet. He is better at Otto than this, but Peter also has a harder time keeping personal responsibilities to his friends and family as a result.
I also appreciate Otto’s respect for professionals to do their jobs. If there’s police or security nearby he’ll give them a heads up to hold a perimeter. If there’s a fire call the fire department. Make sure the appropriate help is requested in a quick and timely matter. If someone bad mouths a firefighter Otto shuts that down and insists they be given the respect they deserve.
