Walking three dogs at once was much harder than John had expected it to be, especially when two of those dogs were still babies. He’d looked over to one side to tell Clara off for trying to eat a squirrel and, next thing he knew, Alistair was charging off to bother some poor man and his dog.
“Alistair! Get back here!” John shouted, changing after the puppy with Clara and Wilfred chasing after him. Alistair, meanwhile, was happily jumping around the stranger’s dog - trying to convince it to play with him.
“I’m sorry, mate. He’s just a baby. He doesn’t understand manners yet, bless him.” John rapidly tried to apologise as he grabbed the dog, pulling Alistair into his arms while simultaneously trying to prevent Clara from rushing in with a leg. Wilfred was a good dog, though. He just stayed meekly by John’s side.
