the competitive splatoon player ever
Splatoon full body comission I did!
After my really rough start to this year in competitive Splatoon (primarily a rough season in a competitive league following some very strong placements for us very early in the year), our team has done some mental health work and gone back to playing for fun without an urge to prove ourselves, and not only has it been less stressful, it's also led to us playing well!
- 2nd place in the runner-up bracket at Big Dapple, the NYC national LAN Championship Showdown qualifier
- 2nd place in the Beta Bracket of Low Ink, the biggest monthly low-level tournament
- 1st place in Lantern Bracket of Swim or Sink (lowest bracket in an open level tournament)
Long time no see, here’s some more H-Town Splashdown stuff idk if I ever posted! Mostly just some art for flyers, stickers, and shirts for Texas’s competitive Splatoon scene here in Houston! :)
completed prize art for the winners of party wheel: on ice 🦑⛸️
Silly goofy emotes for some silly goofy cephalopods
Ok this isn't something I've seen discussed on tumbler so I will say it here.
Do not use the Splatter color screen special in splatoon 3
It can hurt and cause significant pain to people with sensory or other issues. I think I speak for all of us when I say It would be better if we kept splatoon as friendly and open as possible. People with these kind of issues shouldn't have to be afraid to play the game out of fear of the pain it could cause.
I personally do not suffer from these issues but know people who do and they nor anyone else don't deserve to be hurt like that. so please just use another special.
And please try to spread the word both so people will stop using it and so Nintendo will catch wind of this.
Small update for my competitive team! Tenta Brella has been a little miserable to play, was hard to time my shield placements with Carbon and Splash pushing up so quickly. Been enjoying the new Dynamo Roller buffs quite a lot and with the buffs I suggested playing Dynamo instead. After a quick Open session with my team they were instantly convinced. The amount of Coolers and paint I'd throw out was more than enough to enable our Carbon user which felt amazing! I get cooler so fast I don't even need Charge Up either!
Proof of how well I do with this thing. My build is pretty standard, 1 main and a sub of ISM gives Dynamo 6 swings, and when Comeback is active it gets 7. It's quite nice not needing Charge Up as well, especially with how ink-hungry the weapon is now. Comeback gives a little Charge Up on my respawns anyways.
Here's our new comp! LOADS of paint and good entry tools. If wanted too our Liter player can swop to Snipwriter for Cooler and I can play Gold Dynamo Roller for even more paints via Super Chumps. And yes don't worry we still have our Decavitator + Wellstring comp so I'm allowed to play bow!
