Palisade didn't work for me, and idk how much of that is my headspace or if it just, wasn't going to hit for me no matter what. Parts of it hit. Parts of it are just definitely great. But I think I was most affected by things set up and built up in previous seasons. I was feral about the Satelite/Primary reference. I almost lost my mind during the stellar combuster arc because I still care so much about Twilight Mirage. I was very gur-pilled.
I think some of my problem this season is to do with story structure. It's to do with there being too many things across the road to palisade being set up for very much of it to feel properly paid off. There were ideas about settler colonialism that I wanted to see explored and just didn't feel like they got enough attention. The stakes for the stellar combuster arc were so high I couldn't sustain that level of interest and investment afterwards. I don't know how to describe how and why the first finale episodes felt structurally off to me. I mean, they were very much on their shit in terms of the stakes and scale of a finale game. I guess, I think the individual arcs felt rushed. I didn't feel connected to the way the world was changing so dramatically. And the epilogues, idk, it felt like these big important things were happening and then entirely reshaped with just a sentence in this way that didn't honor the gravity of them.
I'm glad they did another mission in armor/astir afterward. I think that definitely helped me process a lot of the pre-finale and make sense of what it meant for the characters if less so for Palisade.
Idk, I kind of hate to make this post at all and what I want is to be shown how actually I'm completely wrong and Palisade was the best season yet. I feel weird loving Twilight Mirage for how big and ambitious it was and now complaining about something very similar. But to me, I guess the difference is how elegantly Twilight Mirage could hit its themes at climatic moments. I had this feeling, as TM approached the mid-season finale that everything was coming together shockingly elegantly for a tabletop game, and I don't know if what's happened is I can't watch the same magic trick 8 times and still be amazed or if they just didn't pull it off as well this time.
Man, some fanfic trends bum me out. Just learned from the AO3 subreddit that a large percentage of today's readers loathe (loathe!) when songs/lyrics are referenced in a fic. Quite the bummer for those of us who, say, wrote an eight-part series about music.
Like anything it can be done well or poorly. I haven't read much fic lately, but I seem to be far less picky about genres and tropes than others. I don't love A/B/O as a concept, but I've read a few great A/B/O fics. I generally steer clear of Reader fics... but not this experimental Balatro horror story lol

I guess I like Pudding and Mint’s redesigns except Pudding should of kept her jumper, but gosh how they massacred Lettuce and Zakuro :’D
Complaining wall of text about Deltarune theories
Since Chapter 2 aired it's mostly either "Ralsei is secretly evil" based on some misinterpreted lines or "x character actually hates x character" because of some tea they drank
No but more seriously most theories are very uncreative at this point,, besides that it's pretty much the same edgy thing every time, people trying to connect every single thing to Undertale. Funny thing is that the opposite never happens :/ I feel like a lot of the fandom tend to see Undertale as the "base game" and Deltarune as just a sort of spinoff that must come entirely from it and to be fair I find it just annoying now.. Of course there is some connections between the 2, like Gaster and some characters, but too many people act like Undertale is the source of every single storyline in Deltarune. I guess it's normal to see links everywhere, but that doesn't mean everything has to be connected, the characters that are present in both worlds have totally different roles, and some characters from UT might not even exist in Deltarune! (i'm looking at you Chara) Gaster might not even show up personally and might just be present as easter eggs for the rest of the game! That's pretty much why I kinda hate the whole theory fandom in UT/DR, it's always pretty uncreative and edgy, people trying to find Undertale in Deltarune just for the sake of nostalgia while it's just a different game, kinda gives me vibes from 2018 where every one would call it "Undertale 2" Toby Fox has already mentioned several times on Twitter that he doesn't want people to see Deltarune as just an extension of Undertale but rather its own world
So yeah I felt like I needed to complain a bit lol, again this doesn't mean I think there will be no connections at all, I'm just tired of people recycling the same unoriginal themes over and over
Wanting to make SWR and Chrisawa art but I'm working on zine stuff still 😭😭😭
Idk why I thought I'd enjoy doing a pic with 8 ppl 🤡
Jk but this is so much work 😪
I'm almost done sketching all the characters. Then I need to bang out the line work 😅
I wanted to do something for that Star Wars Rebels Remembers thingy (?) I saw on twitter but imma be too busy T^T
Then again it's not like I felt that welcome in the swr Fandom to begin with 😆
Anyway I should get back to work 💪
Am I the only one that hates reusing solo choreography?
