Would it be possible for residents of Gravity Falls to interact with their counterparts in Reverse Falls/Levitation Rising in their Dreamscapes?

Absolutely! It’s actually possible for anyone, regardless of location, given the correct circumstances. Master Pines is a lucid dreamer, so he’s noticed whenever he links Dreamscapes with Pine Tree of the sister universe. He tells me about their interactions sometimes. By the sound of it, Pine Tree is not a lucid dreamer because he doesn’t seem to register the peculiarity of Master Pines’ presence.

Hey Will, what exactly IS the mindscape?

Oh gods, where do I even start! Well, the Mindscape is a very complex and versatile thing. You see, As Bill and I are Dream specialists, our universes are connected by the Mindscape, and every single sentient being in both of our universes are connected to the Mindscape in three key ways: The Cloud, The Dreamscape, and The Personal Mindscape.

The Cloud is exactly how it sounds: It’s like the subconscious Internet link of one mind to all other minds. This background connection makes up the bulk of what the Mindscape is, and so generally when Bill and I talk about the Mindscape, we are talking about The Cloud in particular. Also, when Bill and I pull people “into” the Mindscape, we are really pulling them into the vast Cloud space. In most situations, people wouldn’t consciously notice the link of The Cloud, but there are ways you can experience it directly! For one example, the link between you and your alternate self from the sister universe is slightly stronger than to the rest of The Cloud. This is evident in the human experience of déjà vu, the sudden feeling like you’ve been in a particular situation before. What déjà vu actually is, is a vague jostle of familiarity because you and your alternate self happen to be doing the exact same thing at the same time! The connection of The Cloud is also much more obvious is situations were there is a dense population of humans that all share a similar mindset for a particular time. For example, conventions! The group mindset of the convention theme strengthens The Cloud connection among those individuals. A fun way to test it is to pick someone in a crowd at a convention, and just stare intensely at them without them knowing. The heightened connection over The Cloud will alert them and they will turn and look directly at you without even needing to look around for where the watching feeling is coming from!

The Dreamscape is also just how it sounds: It’s the part of the Mindscape someone enters when Dreaming. Everyone has their own Dreamscape that opens and closes as it is needed. Unlike The Cloud, a Dreamscape is free for the individual to manipulate as they see fit, which is why it is in color and not the Mindscape’s usual monochrome.When a Dreamscape opens up, Bill and I can see it and enter it from The Cloud, but an individual cannot leave their Dreamscape under normal circumstances. Sometimes, though, when you and your alternate are asleep and Dreaming at the same time, your Dreamscapes can sync up and link, making a sort of tunneled super-Dreamscape. As a result, you can share the same Dream, and on rare occasions find and interact with one another! Most people would not realize this, however Lucid Dreamers who are aware they are Dreaming and therefore can actively control their Dreamscape can, as they’d see a duplicate of themselves running around deviating from what they’ve created!

The Personal Mindscape is special: It’s basically an individual’s personal niche of the larger expanse of the Mindscape. It’s always there, but almost never in conscious use, save for when Bill or I enter one to access an individual’s memories, emotions, thoughts, and the like. The Personal Mindscape is also the means for Possession! It takes a lot of practice and meditation and concentration, but an individual can actually learn to access their own Personal Mindscape on their own whenever they want. Think of it as a form of extremely deep thought! Like the Dreamscape, an individual can manipulate the Personal Mindscape at will, however it will always remain in monochrome like the Cloud. Also like the Dreamscape, an individual cannot actively leave their own Personal Mindscape.

Do human and angel eyesights differ? Like, do angels see more colour?

That’s an interesting question! Demons and Angels do have significant differences in their fields of vision, or so I’ve learned from my own studies on the matter with my siblings in The Void. Angels don’t necessarily see more color, but they do see things a little brighter, more saturated than Demons do. Like a sort of dreamy quality of sight. Demon vision is a little duller, save for bright warm colors. However, Bill and I have about the same quality of vision, which is actually closer to the way humans experience sight. If you’re referring to how the Mindscape is monochrome, it’s actually naturally like that for everyone. While the Mindscape is monochrome, a human’s Dreamscape, which is the inside of their own mind, is in color, as per how that human experiences the world. Humans also have what I call Personal Mindscapes, which is like a little niche of the Mindscape only they can access aside from me and Bill, and that’s monochrome, but there are very few humans I know who are able to access it. One of those humans would be Master Pines. Bill and I made the Mindscape monochrome so we could tell the difference between the physical realm and the mental realm when working on maintaining our universes. It’d be a pain if they looked the same, and we tried to use Spacial Manipulation Magic in the Mindscape just for it to not work because there is no space in the Mindscape!

Hey again, Will! Have you ever watched the movie The Secret of the Kells??? For that matter, do you like movies?

I haven’t, actually…! I have seen its sister film, Song of the Sea! I really love that movie, and its depiction of selkies are surprisingly accurate! I love movies like that. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was okay, but it had quite a few misconceptions on the human concept of Time. The books addressed the theme much better than the film.

So quick question....if bill gives nightmares to people, do you give them good dreams?

Bill doesn’t just give nightmares to people. We can manipulate the Mindscape and people’s Dreamscapes at will, to whatever we want them to be. So yeah, I can give people good dreams. I usually do. Bill usually likes to give people nightmares. It’s a work ethic thing.
