NGC 1300
Located 61 million light years from us in the constellation of Eridanus, this image of the Spiral galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy.
The image is a combination of 3 ground based telescopes, the golden caramel colour is molecular gas taken by ALMA.
The blueish colour is taken by the VLT MUSE and shows older stars, and PHANGS a telescope looking at all wavelengths.
The centre of the galaxy, despite having a large bar, also sports a grand design whirlpool.
And finally the galaxy as seen by Hubble in Sep 2004.
