Roland CR-78 CompuRythm drum machine. 

This drum machine has made its appearance on a number of Nigel productions, the latest being A Moon Shaped Pool (Deck’s Dark). This is a bit speculative, but I think you can hear it on the following records:

-The end of Pavement’s “Major Leagues” from Terror Twilight

-Beck’s “Movie Theme” from The Information

-Beck’s “Sunday Sun” from Sea Change

I’m sure I’m missing a few other appearances on other records. I would be curious to know if Nigel uses a drum machine track in lieu of an actual click track, perhaps striping the tape with a take of the CR-78 and then the rest of the band plays to that.
