When something goes down and you don't notice
I'm told there was a Tumblr outage this past weekend. Much as I like Tumblr, it's a heck of a thing if a site goes down and you don't even notice. And I didn't.
Problem is Tumblr hasn't worked properly for me for 6 months. Whether it's having to retry a blog entry or a reblog, or the site just freezing, or not allowing me to leave Notes or even send personal messages, if it went down for a while, that is kind of "business as usual".
(And before anyone says "it's your computer", this same site misbehaviour has been happening on my home PC, my work Mac, and my Android phone. And I don't have any of those funky "beta testing" Tumblr community things activated, either.)
I accidentally received and kitted this one order back on the 27th according to the system. At 4:55 AM. I cancelled the receipt but I can't unkit it. So I hafta go back into the system and reprint the labels from when I originally kitted it. No problem for the one label. Done, easy peasy. The second label tho can only be reprinted by going into my printing history. So I loaded up as far back as it will let me, which thankfully is actually Feb 27th. At 6:30 AM. One and a half bloody hours after I made the label...
I feel like it's just toying with my emotions....
I got a fucking trojan the other day and I think it bought me a Goddamn $200 eBay giftcard
WTF man now I have to fix all this bullshit
Ugh... the new video card has only one dvi output, and it's different from the ones I had previously so my vga adapters don't fit. It does have an HDMI port too, but I can't get the resolution to fit my screen that way lol everything is too big at least vertical, depending on the resolution. Adapters are stupidly priced in the nearby stores. The dvi to vga one is $30, and the HDMI to vga is $50 something. On Amazon though I can get them both for under $20. I think I can suffer through a couple days while it ships.
Still a little confused and leery about the lack of power ports on the vid card. I haven't seen that in a long time...
Google Drive: “We’ve encountered an error. Please try again later.” Google Drive: “That folder no longer exists or you no longer have access.” Me: HOLY SHIT PRINT PRINT NOW
(Apparently, it was temporary and I can now get back in, but what a way to wake me up in a hurry today...)
On the other hand I guess I can look at as my computer is faster and my new keyboard sounds so satisfying going from cherry mx reds to cherry mx blues.
Ughhhhhhhh
Geek Squad called today, they were unable to get the part for my Lenovo U530. They will be sending my Lenovo back, still broken. It fell of my bed during the end of spring semester, it didn't seem to bad, until the right hinge stopped working. I didn't have an Accident Protection Plan, so we went through Geek Squad, and they priced the repair at 219$, much lower than we expected. It's been a month without my main laptop, which means I've been forced to use my 5 year old MacBook that is slow and near the end of its life. Now my only options are either, Go through Lenovo, which could cost 600+$ as I don't have a Protection Plan Or Buy a new laptop, probably an ASUS chimaeraundying luckily helped me in finding a cost effective gaming and work laptop. Instead of a 1000+$ laptop, they found a 800$ one that will suit all of my needs. So I'm probably going to be getting a new laptop, yay spending more money :/ Be warned that the U series of Lenovo are prone to either the left or right hinge breaking, possibly damaging the screen
