Go forth and vote!
If you’re on Facebook, anyway.
here at the sandwich shop, we’ve started to notice some people who are new to sandwiches aren’t used to meat and cheese between two slices of bread. they find this practice strange and confusing. that’s why we’ve decided to cut the bread out all together. from now on, we’ll just serve slices of meat and cheese on a plate.
we know that many of our loyal sandwich shop customers have been coming here for years to buy our delicious sandwiches. but some people don’t “get” sandwiches, and we need to try and appeal to them with an easier-to-understand meal format. we will no longer be serving sandwiches. all of our food will just be cold cuts on a paper plate. we love our customers and appreciate your understanding <3
Yes we know Craig's Cold Cuts down the street does cold cuts better than we do and has millions of customers. That's why we need to switch to cold cuts, to get their customers. We hope that our long-time sandwich loving customer base will be patient in this transition to cold cuts and welcome the certain influx of Craig's Cold Cut customers who will surely come here to enjoy our worse cold cuts with you, our sandwich-deprived customer base, whom we value so much.
I love how this goes around again every time the tumblr staff does something fucking stupid.
Just reblogged a post from 2012 - so in 2026 I’m going to ask the question again….
How many Supernatural fans are STILL on Tumblr??
Reblog this once - let’s see how many of us are still here!
sorry i have to post this move it's fucking INSANEEEE!!! emily axford the woman that you areeee!!!!!!!!!!!
The old school lack of transparency on tumblr is amazing because you assume the people you follow must all be equivalent to you and then you see someone write “I brought my youngest to college today” and someone else write “my mom wouldn’t let me listen to Ariana Grande when I was a kid” and then your head explodes
and we need that! keeps us humble.
Then I'm just like WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE AN ADULT
It goes the other way, too, because WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE A CHILD?!!
I'm 16, that's like, barely a child
I'm in my 30s. You are baby
I'm older than both of you in a trenchcoat.
honestly one of the best things we can do for ourselves is realize that people of different ages than us can still be the same kind of person as us. it's humbling and it gives everyone involved a sense of continuity, and it busts those stupid generational stereotypes media is so fond of.
I think it's hilarious how many times I've been in the middle of an absolutely UNHINGED and FERAL conversation with someone on here and then I mention my kids or my job or the cancer treatments and I get the pause followed by the inevitable question...
Personally, I love that fandoms bring together people of all ages and walks of life and we all just sit here parallel playing and hyperfixating wildly; the readers of my fanfiction range from minors to pensioners and you'd have NO CLUE which was which. It's glorious.
Love you all, my precious beautiful moots 🥰😘
And I love when this phenomenon happens in real life! I work with teens, in a teen-only space where everyone is more than welcome to speak and act without masking or code-switching. The number of times I’ve been chatting with them during a program or when they’re just hanging out, and suddenly conversation will FREEZE as they pause and stare at something I’ve said—some slang or anime reference or lyrics quote—and it’s like I can see something click as they start grinning and peppering me with questions to “test” me has been hilarious.
(The sheer number of fandom items, standees, posters, pins, or maybe the life-size cardboard Castiel I’ve got wearing a rainbow cape near the entrance might have been a clue, too. I love getting to dress my workspace up in a way that sends messages to anyone looking.)
Adults, around what percentage of the fiction you engage with was originally created for children? (including teenagers)
Almost none
1-25%
20-50%
50-75%
75-99%
All of it/almost all
I'm not an adult/see results
There's a stereotype that all adult Tumblr users only engage with children's media, but I don't actually know anyone on here for whom that's true, so I wanted to see if there was some merit to the stereotype or if it was completely invented.

Haven’t posted anything in forever, but there’s a non-zero chance I’m getting religious protestors at my LGBTQIA+ Teen Book Club this evening, so I’m feeling certain ways about that. (Particularly because, per my director, I’m not supposed to heckle respond to them (if no teens show and I don’t have to worry I’ll get ferally protective).
Me when I’m low-key stressed, so I put ginseng espresso in my red-eye. ☕️
Happily, the protest turned out to be more of a “pray over the building from the parking lot down the hill,” so that worked out okay. I heard one guy came in (don’t know if he was with them), saw the queer book display my fellow librarians put together in solidarity with me, and raised a stink in semi-loud mutters to himself—he wouldn’t look the librarians in the face while he did, though, and then he just left without incident.
All in a day.

THE CASUALNESS OF THAT COLLIE SLIPPING RIGHT OUT OF THEIR COLLAR. That dude is a Willing Participant of this walk and by god everyone else is going to follow the RULES.
im a fan of the moment where the husky is like 'wait you're not authorized to do that' and the collie is like 'THE FUCK IM NOT'
unstoppable force (border collie) vs immovable object (husky)

Reblog this to ease the back pain of the person you reblogged it from
to those of you who are moving here from tiktok, from someone whos used both tiktok and tumbr for years...
1. DO NOT censor your posts
dont censor sex, abuse, suicide, dont censor it. we dont have censors like tiktok does, you wont be banned for talking about these things and tagging them properly helps people avoid them (also, we dont have shadowbanning here)
2. we dont really have an algorithm
you follow who you follow, and you see posts from who you follow or what you search. the 'for you page' is basically useless here. this also brings me to my next two points
3. dont crosstag
we get it, on tiktok you have to crosstag for reach, but thats not really a thing here. just tag your posts properly (also posters often leave more info about the post in the tags!! and when you reblog stuff you can leave your own notes in the tags, kind of like the old "repost comments" on tiktok)
4. dont expect to go viral/be famous
"viral" isnt really a thing on here (at least not for the average blogger). your posts will probably get 2-10 likes and you wont get nearly as many followers than on tiktok. thats just how tumblr is
5. blocking is your best friend
tiktok is VERY discussion based, and while tumblr is much more discussion based than other social medias, its still not a good place for ragebait/discourse. dont interact, itll make your experience worse in the end, just block and move on
6. you cant go into someone elses house and start rearranging their furniture
this is tumblr, not tiktok. dont diss old tumblr users for how they use the site or try to change them, thats like going into someone elses house and trying to rearrange their furniture. we've been here longer and we're familiar with the site and its culture, either find your niche, adapt, or find a different app
Another important point
You need to actually reblog posts for this site to work as it should.
Liking posts only saves them in a spot that no one checks except for the user who liked them. Most people have their liked posts hidden.
Also, this site has a spam bot problem. One way we weed those out is to check the blog to see if it's actually being used to post legitimate content. If there is absolutely nothing on your blog you're getting blocked and some users may just straight up report you as spam as a precaution.
Not to mention that the posts you reblog will only be seen by you and whoever follows you. Tagging it "fyp" does absolutely nothing.
Just to be clear: cross-tagging (as in using tags wildly unrelated to the thing you’re posting) isn’t just useless, it is against the TOS
The only blogs that will tag something, for example, “#one piece #izzy hands #mario #superman”? Spam bots. If you are not here to spam, do not engage in spam behavior. You will get blocked by other users at best, if not deactivated entirely.
