It is extremely wild to me for any artist that creates their works on computer software to not have the ctrl+s reflex.

like i understand most schools have/had shitty IT classes, if any, and we all have different knowledge bases with this stuff. i know a lot of people are unfamiliar with keyboard shortcuts

so this is me telling you. keyboard shortcuts are great. highly recommend. here are the most basic ones that apply to the vast majority of software:

Ctrl+S = Save file

Ctrl+C = Copy

Ctrl+V = Paste

Ctrl+P = Print

Ctrl+Z = Undo

Ctrl+I = Italics

Ctrl+B = Bold

Some that I am less sure of the universality of are under the cut

Ctrl+N = New window/tab/document

Ctrl+Q = Quit (this used to be pretty universal but is less so today)

Ctrl+W = Close tab/window In software that has tabs, like Firefox and many image editing softwares, this will close a tab. In software that opens things in new windows rather than tabs, or if you only have a single tab open, this will close the window

Ctrl+Shift+S = Save As For when you want to save a file in a different format and/or with a different name than its current ones

Ctrl+A = Select all In a text document, this will select all text. In an image editing software, it usually selects everything on the layer you're on

Ctrl+Tab = Move to the next tab

Home = Takes you to the beginning of a line of text Ctrl+Home = Takes you to the beginning of a document (in the tumblr post editor, it'll take you to the beginning of the current block of text.) Shift+Home = Select all text between the cursor and the beginning of the line. Ctrl+Shift+Home = Select all text between the cursor and the beginning of the document. This key is not present on all keyboards. Ctrl+Up Arrow should do the same as Home.

End = Takes you to the end of a line of text Ctrl+End = Takes you to the end of a document (in the tumblr post editor, it'll take you to the end of the current block of text.
