Thief Caught on CCTV Using Sleight of Hand To Con Takeaway Restaurant Cashier
A trickster can be seen in this CCTV footage pretending not to receive £10 of change from a busy cashier.
The surveillance camera at Barton Takeaway in Preston, Lancashire shows the man in front of two accomplices quickly slipping the banknote up the sleeve then telling the staff member he hadn’t received his full change.
His two friends can be seen smiling after witnessing the sneaky slight of hand.
Manager of the takeaway, Jen Law said: ‘We thought the men were acting suspiciously when they came in.
‘They were being quite rude and awkward with their order too and when they’d gone I thought I'd check the CCTV to see if anything had happened.’
Lancashire Police spokesman are urging local businesses to be wary of scams and frauds.
A Police spokesperson told the Lancashire Evening Post: ‘If you suspect you may have been a victim of fraud contact Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud reporting centre, by visiting www.actionfraud.police.uk.’
