Wakey Wakey (2018)

With the final episode of the original six part miniseries, it appeared that this was the end of Don’t Hug Me Im Scared. However, like the lessons of the teacher characters, this notion would soon be contradicted...

On June 19th 2017, Becky Sloan tweeted:

And sure enough, on the 13th of September 2018, a video was uploaded to the Dont Hug Me Im Scared Youtube channel simply titled “Wakey Wakey”.

This was a teaser for a new Dont Hug Me Im Scared television show made in a collaboration between Blink Industries, Conaco, and Super Deluxe. The 30-second video gained over two million views within 24 hours of its release and peaked at No. 1 on YouTube's Trending list. And as of now, the video has amassed over eleven million views in total.

On 3 December 2018, it was announced that the show's pilot episode would be shown at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, and details of the plot were also released. The pilot episode, unlike the shorter 3-6 minute episodes of the original YouTube series, ran at 23 minutes, and appeared in the "Indie Episodic Program 1" alongside other short films.

As of writing this post, no new news regarding the series has been released. Though Pelling and Sloan both confirmed on thier social media (twitter and instagram respectively) in December of 2019 that the series is still being worked on.
