Arc V Month Day 17: Hope

Fuchsiashipping
-Yuri does not know how to be romantic. He has no experience with Valentines day at all.
-Flowers and chocolates are romantic though yes? Flowers he can do. And girls love flowers.
-Store bought chocolates from him cause who really trusts him with kitchen things?
-Probably has to ask like, Yuya and Sora, and possibly Dennis for help cause, surely *they* know what to do. Or at least what are appropriate flowers to give (Sundew and Venus Fly Traps are not appropriate choices of flowers to give on Valentines day no matter how cool they might be)
-That said he would still make sure that the flowers are THE BEST™ Ain’t no one getting any half-assed flowers from him no-way.
-In fact if it has a counterpart in his deck it should probably be ruled out as a Valentine’s Day gift(except lilies, those would be fine).
-Yuri for all his confidence in other things (like duelling) has no idea how to deal with emotions like this and, giving gift, and genuinely meaning it??
-He probably just like, thrusts it into her hands like ‘here for you’ before she can object and before he can chicken out on giving it (someone save him from himself).
-Yuzu isn’t nearly as clueless. I feel like she’s probably gotten her share of Valentines. On the other hand, what the hell does one even get Yuri?? She doesn’t know (and isn’t sure who to ask)
-Yuri isn’t accustomed to getting gifts so Yuzu giving him something is a bit of a shock.
Concealshipping
-The main problem is of course, how does Yuri get something for Ruri and give it to her, without getting killed by Shun (or Yuto). Very, very carefully.
-Again, flustered Yuri. Ruri is just, a mega sweetie so he’s not sure how to deal. How can anyone be so sweet and kind, it does not make sense. Especially someone being nice to him.
-Ruri just smiles and he, kinda dies. How’s he gonna deal with that? Suddenly nothing seems like it’s good enough for her.
-He tries tho.
-He’s also not so subtly jealous when anyone else gives her something. And they may have to watch their backs for the rest of the day.
-He tries to play it off as ‘I’m just doing it cause everyone expects me too’ even though Ruri’s the only one he got things for, it’s not like he got anything for anyone else (he is quite possibly, a little bit tsundere)
-Luckily she makes up for it in spades cause she just, loves Valentine’s Day so she knows what to do.
-She just has to avoid the big bro all day because chances are he’ll scare Yuri off (intentionally) before she can give him anything

A Concealshipping thing I’m to lazy to write atm. (with a sidehelping of Sparrowshipping)
-AU where Yuya and Yuri are sibs. They’re out at the mall gift shopping for, someone(mom, dad, idk).
-Ruri and Shun are also out shopping as well.
-They cross paths in like the food court and sit and talk and suddenly Yuya and Shun just, leave together. Yuri and Ruri are just like ‘guys wtf?’ cause their siblings just ditched them for an impromptu date when they were supposed to be shopping.
-Like, Yuya and Shun were an item already, but they already had stuff to do so now their siblings are just a touch ticked that they got ditched in the middle of shopping.
-So Ruri grabs Yuri and is just like ‘you know what, let’s just finish our shopping together and go do shit till they remember we exist’ so they bugger off for shopping.
-An hour later they get back and Yuya and Shun are not yet back(nor have they texted) so they decide to kill time around the mall for a bit longer
-Ruri drags Yuri off to one of those photo booths for pictures. She then texts a photo of the pair to Shun, probably with some cheesy caption
-‘There are probably easier ways to have me taken out you know’ (Yuri b/c he’s certain Shun will kill him when he gets the photos) Ruri just laughs and assures him that Shun’s not that bad
-they probably stop at the pet store and Ruri gushes over the birds. Yuri tries to act uninterested but he actually does like animals(he lives with several) and oh no these are really cute and also they have lizards and snakes too
-It’s probably mostly window shopping and talking but it’s enjoyable-the two rarely talk to one another as it is so this is sort of a rare chance for them to get to know one another.
-Yuri oddly, has fun on their ‘not really a date’ tho and is perhaps a little upset when it finally comes to an end. They each gets texts from their respective sibling asking where they are cause they can’t find them. So it’s back to the food court.
-they swap numbers before they get back so they can keep talking b/c they both actually, had fun,
-Faux dating to spite Shun just cause Yuri’s the one person he can’t scare off (and Yuya would be upset if he hurt him) except, feelings happen and that’s, not good.
Concealshipping (Yuri/Ruri) Beauty and the Beast AU
Yuri is a spoiled, ill mannered prince who gets on the wrong side of a fairy/sorceress/whatever and finds himself cursed into the form of a monster(along with some of his friends/servants, aka Dennis, Sora and Selena, who work to keep him in line. They fail a lot).
Really, the only thing he actually cares about are his flowers, he tends to the roses that grow around his castle. They are his pride and joy, so when Shun, who is passing though, picks one to take home to Ruri, Yuri is furious.
When Shun doesn’t come home Ruri goes to look for him and finds him being held prisoner by Yuri.
She negotiates his freedom in exchange for her own(Yuri accepts this only b/c Shun is a horrid guest and won’t shut up and Yuri would like some quiet). Shun is not happy about this but the deal is done, Shun goes free while Ruri remains.
It’s rocky at first, Yuri constantly restricts where she can go in the palace and he’s abrasive(almost literally because, scales and claws and the like) and they do not get along.
Slowly though, they do begin to bond, Ruri is massively impressed at the fact that he has tended to all those roes himself(and Yuri does love to boast). She gets to know Selena, Sora and Dennis and comes to realize that past his grumpy exterior, Yuri is a scared and lonely person with some self esteem issues.
Once they start getting along things are fine and dandy, until Ruri gets word that Shun has fallen sick(and Yuto’s in over his head trying to care for him on his own). Reluctantly, Yuri lets her go, giving her an enchanted mirror that will allow her to instantly travel to any place she desires. She promises to return within a week.
While she’s gone, Yuri dwells on his feelings and comes to the realization that he’s fallen utterly in love with her and decides that when she returns he’s going to tell her.
Except she doesn’t come back. Shun, delighted to have his sister back, hid the mirror so she couldn’t return to that horrible beast, so she could be free. Ruri is unhappy with this and Shun refuses to hear her out when she says Yuri isn’t a monster. She does eventually get it back, but when she returns she finds Yuri among his flowers, half dead with grief.
When she didn’t return he began to despair, after all, who could really love him? He’s ill tempered, bad mannered and a monster. Someone like her would never love him. Clearly she only tolerated him at best, she didn’t like him. So he begins to despair and stops eating and is frankly a mess when she finds him.
He tearfully admits he doesn’t blame her for not coming back, he’s not worth loving and never was. Which is about when Ruri admits that she does love him and kisses him.
(Cue somewhere in the palace Sora suddenly shouting ‘holy shit! I think they broke the curse!’ b/c he’s human again)
When she looks back, Yuri’s human(and alive, albeit hungry). Also cute.
And happy ending. Also ruri dragging a non cursed Yuri to meet Shun and forcing them to get along.

Lmao, Yuri would, probably if he just woke up or if it was hot out. Ruri would be telling him to put a shirt on. He would not.

Ruri for sure, with Yuri half paying attention and being bored. Unless she finds something interesting.

Ruri, if only because her stuff wouldn’t fit him.

I’m not sure you could get Yuri to sit still long enough to be drawn.

So Yuri could easily be either one, but because I like the idea better, Ruri’s doing the flips while Yuri’s just like ‘yup that’s my bad-ass gf’

I lowkey want to say Yuri because he’s *tying* to get the hang of this, romance thing and it’s what the others said you do. Ofc since it’s him they’re probably like, plants.

Neither tbh, I don’t think spiders would scare either of them, and they’d both just scoop it up and move (meanwhile Yuto is like ‘Ruri get that thing away from me!’)

Yuri, while maintaining a ‘I’m not doing this because I care or anything’ sort of look.
18. Who’s the first one to admit they have feelings for the other?
Oh man, see my favourite version of them getting together is basically ‘to spite Shun’ b/c Ruri is fed up with him being overprotecive so she’ll do the one thing she knows would bug him, date Yuri. Or pretend to. So it’s elaborate fake dating just to piss him off until oops there’s real feelings involved and no one planned for that.
As for who would come clean first? Oh man, I kinda want to say Yuri but only by a bit.
19. How good would your OTP be at parenting?
Ruri would be good at it, I don’t think Yuri would. Him and small kids, don’t seem like they’d be a good mix. I feel he’d be better at handling older ones.
21. Who gets attacked by a bully and who protects them?
Yuri, esp if we go by canon(ish). Not everyone forgives him or welcomes him back with open arms post war and he finds himself ostracized by a lot of people, even being picked on. But Ruri is a sweetheart, and one day finds him on the receiving end of some nasty people, and steps in when she notices that he’s not defending himself(his self loathing for what he did runs deep and he thinks maybe he deserved this). Because she is not going to stand for this.
Yuri is, understandably shocked.
22. Who makes the bad puns and who makes a pained smile every time the other makes a pun?
Ruri tries and Yuri’s just like, ‘yeah that was good’ even when they’re not.
25. Which one competes in some sort of activity and which one does the overzealous cheering?
Yuri. He duels obviously. An Ruri screeches her support(bonus if he’s duelling Shun who’s just like ‘Ruri you traitor, rooting against your bother’)
26. Who takes a selfie when the other one falls asleep on their shoulder?
Ruri, she has a stash of secret selfies with him from things like this.

I know this is supposed to be Yuzu/Yuri but….. consider: angsty Yuri/Ruri… RiRi
Things were quiet in the dead of night. That’s the way Yuri preferred. He preferred moonlight to sunlight. He prefers the cold to the warm. He preferred the silence to the noise. He can’t stand any and all noise that deems excessive and his Academia was host to the riotous and raucous.
But she, she was different. She was a sweet and dulcet noise. She intrigued him. Hence, why he visited by the cover of night.
She was like a princess, in a tower. Her angst and brooding was like the clatter of the morning choir. Thus, he had to rise earlier than she and she was one to rise with the morning sun in the thick of grey over the island and over the ocean.
Yuri waited by her door. He was a special student. He had special permissions. Thus, it was easy for him to bypass the security that held her. He missed her.
He missed her touch and her scent. Gentle, yet untamed. Everything about her seemed to be a contradiction. The beginning of a war, the ending of a life…. She existed on an axis that Yuri had not foreseen. She was kind yet vicious. She was beautiful yet so, so, so ugly.
She looked so pathetic all curled up, under her blankets and inside her wondrously garnished nest and cage. It was endearing.
Yuri was obsessed with her. He peered in through the bars of her door. Her cage was a blessed one. He had been the one to pluck her from the air and how he wished he could duel her again so he could crush her more thoroughly this time. To make sure she had not even the faintest drop of hope left in her pink eyes.
Yuri simply adores the colour pink and when stained with tears and terror, it was oh so palatable.
“I miss you, Kurosaki Ruri… I do, I truly and sincerely do. Will you accept these sentiments, my dearest? My tiny bird of prey?” he asked as he watched her sleep.
