Aly & AJ - "a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun"
This album is impressively produced, with lovely, often surprising synthy beats — pop and pop rock do not adequately cover its genres. The lyricism is here too, I don't know how I never noticed how strong and astute Aly & AJ's lyrics are (check out "Stomach" for particularly cutting lines). My biggest con for it is that lyrical repetition weighs down some of the songs, but it is still a very strong album.

genre: pop, pop rock year: 2021

Why this album? I'm going to see Aly & AJ soon.

Would you all be interested in me doing another series like I did for Rep Tour (#RepTourPrep) with ideas, inspo etc for the LoverFest/Lover shows (makeup, style, accessories, costume/outfit diy, sources, concert going tips, tutorials, other things you can think of... check out my Rep Tour Prep posts)? If so, what topics do you want to see covered? Please let me know! 💕
Guys I'm so excited to show you guys my costume and all my signs!! There are a couple surprises for my costume that I can't show you guys until the day of, but I'm so excited to show you guys the big reveal!!!! Here it is!!!!!
When the morning begins with “…Miss S.? Kid just puked on herself…” you know it’s gonna be a good day. (Does it make me a terrible human that I was sort of glad she mostly did puke on herself, and only a tiny bit on my carpet?)
2 Days until the Elementary concert…
1 week + 2 days until the Band concert… (and apparently, I have a student with religious objections to Jingle Bells, which, apart from being sung near Christmas, is an entirely secular song about having fun on a sleighride… WTF)
I dislike publicity, but it is part of my position. As a concert approaches, I shut myself up for a fortnight and play Bach. That is my preparation.
