Queensrÿche - Hellfire (Condition Hüman, 2015)

Very interesting, classic Queensrÿche sound and vibe on this one. There is a lot of debate online–surprise, surprise, huh?!–about whether Todd La Torre is a Geoff Tate clone, whether he's a better singer than Tate in his prime, whether La Torre's high notes are open-throat natural (or modal, for all you music nerds) voice or falsetto, where he stacks up against the greats like Rob Halford and Ronnie James Dio, blah blah blah, ad infinitum.

Lorsqu’au fond d’un coin d’un trou où se trouve ton cœur, tes sentiments les plus braves, tes espoirs les plus ambitieux... Le monstre vient  sans frapper à la porte, et te dérobe le trésor d’une vie encore inaccomplie.

Tu te regarde dans le miroir, et tu décides de vivre malgré ça. Parce que tu t’es promis qu’au fil du temps, tu récupèrerais ton du.

Alors tu vogue comme une âme sans visage. Ton corps n’est plus le tien mais bien celui de la terre, celui de ta mère, celui de ton père, celui du monde, celui d’autrui.

Plus rien ne t’appartiens, même plus ton cerveau, car il est liés aux sens et les sens sont torturés.

Tes yeux, par les lectures de ce monde, tes oreilles, par les bêtises que les autres disent, ta voix que toujours l’on tait pour avoir le pouvoir. Le touché qui souvent est violé par la violence de l’autre. Et ton flair qui souvent te trompe par de bonnes ou mauvaises effluves.

Ainsi l’être humain de ce monde est la fin de son début. Début qui lui, s’efface dés le début. Il est juste une masse de chair qui ressent l’absurdité. L’absurdité de sa condition. L’homme se révolte car il croit que là il survit. Mais c’est absurde car les choses ne changeront jamais. L’homme aime car il croit que là il vit, mais c’est absurde car les choses changent toujours.
