That feeling when you've got the whole world in your arms. 💜🌎👶 . I LOVE getting grounded in the wilderness. Things get put in perspective when you can feel God so near. #gratefulforthebigpicture #conferenceweekend #nearermygodtothee

#MondayMustHaves Conference week: Day 2 I don’t know about you but Conference this week is going to be CRAAAAAAAY. In the best way possible, of course! I started prepping for the things I needed for the next couple of days and I have to say, these are especially useful for us gals! If a few men want to participate, that’s cool, too! Here’s the basics of my MUST HAVE items during Conference week! The NO OTHER NAME bracelet It’s black and white. It’s classy. It’s chic. And… It’s also your pass of entry to Hillsong Conference NYC! Bracelet owners/wearers/holders: Don’t forget these! Don’t lose them and treat them as you would the most precious possession you own. The Bible I’ve read many versions and own a few different ones but still, I’m a New King James Version type of gal. I know the bible app is useful on our phones nowadays, but there’s still something about flipping the pages of a book. This trusty book has been in my possession for nearly 10 years now and it was given by my best friend and her Mum (who’s really a second Mum to me). I love it still and it’s my go-to in every study/devotional/fellowship. What’s your favourite version to read? Journal Taking notes is my favourite. My new journal (thanks DUNE ) has already been filled with some amazing things these past few weeks. I can’t wait to write my conference notes in this! Also, be prepared to have more than one pen – 8 sessions to take notes from! Devotional No matter how busy things may get, my Undaunted devotional by Christine Caine always sneaks its way in. It’s a breath of fresh air! What’s your current devotional? What’s a devotional you want to start? Q&A journal This was a gift given by the bestie (courtesy of Anthropologie) and it’s so fun. It’s a 5 year journal with a question/statement for 365 days. The cool thing is that it also serves as a time capsule in which you can see the progress and variation of what you’ve written down throughout the years. I’ve got to write my answers during conference days while it’s still fresh! Bookmark I know, I know. Bookmarks are a thing of the past in this advanced society we live in. But you know what? I still like books. I still like writing. I still like notebooks. As I will be carrying 3 different “books”, I need a bookmark. Also, it’s such a nice one from The Frick Collection. This one is St. Francis of Assisi. Charger We’ve all been a victim of the dreaded red bar on our phones. What’s even worse is that if we left our chargers at home while we’re running with 1% left for the rest of the day! Have no fear and remember your wire and charger! Invest in a cheaper alternative: this set cost me $5 from Target. It’s going to be a long day and our phones will be used more frequent than usual, so carry these! Phone Now, it wouldn’t make sense if you remembered your wire and charger but forgot your phone, would it? Your phone will be your access to the hashtags during conference, the apps you need, communicating with friends via messaging or social media, looking for the nearest coffee shop, etc. Our phones have become our lifeline these days. However, during conference week, I challenge you to use your phone in something productive and substantial. See that stranger sitting near you during conference? Ask for their name. Ask for their twitter/Instagram/Facebook, etc. Engage in a conversation. You’re there because you both have something in common (Jesus), so why not make a friend? Wallet In recent days, I’ve preferred to use this card/cash/key holder. It’s very convenient and it’s easy access to everything. More essentials in it are: • Metrocard (for those of us who live the commuting life) • Cash (because some only accept cash when you need a cab or a quick bite to eat or purchase some merch) • Credit/debit cards (when you feel like splurging & being generous in covering someone’s meal) • Discount cards (everything in NYC seem to have some cash back/rewards system going on) • ID (just because… And also, I still get carded!) iPod & earphones I like to pump myself up whenever I’m going somewhere. As a music lover, my iPod has been a place of solace. During conference week, make a playlist that will get you pumped up on the way! Waterproof cosmetics Rimmel’s scandalous waterproof eyeliner and mascara are a must for me this week! I know I’ll get emotional, laugh in tears, cry in tears… You know how it is. Hand sanitizer You’ll be needing this for the many hands you will shake. I recommend using the regular hand sanitizer and not the scented ones. Why? The scented ones leave my hands sticky and it just feels dirtier. Ew. Another tip: save these little containers once you’ve finished the original content and then wash it to refill with regular hand sanitizer. Lotion As Autumn and the cold are upon us, dry skin is also upon us. As mentioned above, using hand sanitizer excessively will probably result in dry skin, so lotion/moisturizer are wise to have on hand. This scent is stunning for the Autumn season, by the way. Lip balm My new favourite, EOS in honeydew, hits the top spot in the lip balm department. All of the talking and singing you will do, dry lips will be inevitable. Do yourself a favour and moisturize. Gum You’ll be out all day. You’re going to be eating different things. You’re going to face a lot of people. Fresh breath (though temporarily) is a plus. Perfume Autumn in NYC is very extreme on both sides of polarity. One day it’s really warm. The next day, it’s really chilly. OR both can occur in one day! Just spray a little of your favourite scent (mine is Gucci Guilty, very warm with a hint of musk that’s perfect for Autumn) & bring it along with you for spritzing throughout the day! Sunnies Whether you’re fighting off the glare of the sun or hiding behind raccoon eyes during worship, Sunnies are a great accessory to have. And of course, where would I carry all these things?! My Purse This Lulu purse serves an all purpose for me. It can store what I need and more. In addition to what I’ve shown above, I’ll probably add some snacks, a water bottle, and an umbrella! Enjoy packing and prepping for conference, friends! - M
