I find the tendency of some fans to always blame one character for why a relationship isn't working odd because as far as I've seen in Star Trek it's never a shut case unless it was built to be that way (as in an ex shows up and of course they're the problem) but with ships like Spuhura in AOS, Marinifer from LWD, Pike/Batel and Spaple from SNW it really is a case of these people keep getting into arguments, disagreements and domestic issues because they really shouldn't be dating each other due to either lack of compatibility or unwillingness to properly communicate or a tendency to talk past each other. This isn't a personal failing of any one character in these relationships but rather a case of two characters who really need to let it go cause this isn't going anywhere but on and off and hot and cold. And that doesn't mean the characters don't work as friends or can't work later down the road (I do like Spuhura and Marinifer myself) but that within the context of the media, they clearly aren't working now.
