It's a major pet peeve of mine when people do redesigns of established alien races. Giving Vulcanoids tails/giving Cardassisns tails and claws, etc.
The beauty of Star Trek is that if you want those sort of aliens all you need to do is make up a brand new species.
It makes me not go to certain tags because of how often it happens, without being tagged with something to indicate that it's a redesign.
I get people are into the tails, claws etc, but completely changing the characters into unrecognizable other really makes me uncomfortable.
