“Can I ask you a question, Y/N?” Castiel asked when you got back to the bunker.

“Fire away,” you smiled, putting your bags down on your bed.

“What exactly is the purpose of a bra?” he frowned.

You checked his face for any sign of a joke, but his expression was as unreadable as ever.

“Uh,” you faltered, “Um, bras support a woman’s… uh… breasts. So, if we’re running, or climbing the stairs, or, worse, coming down the stairs, they don’t, uh… jiggle?”

You blushed at your own words, but he just nodded thoughtfully.

“Is it uncomfortable?” he asked after a moment’s awkward silence.

“Not if you get the right fit,” you told him, “But if it’s too tight it can dig into your sides, which isn’t a good feeling. And if you don’t wear a sports bra when you’re exercising, then it can hurt a bit.”

He nodded again, revelling in the new information you were providing him with.

“And why do Dean and Sam not have to wear them? Or my vessel?”

You laughed a little, sure he must have been pulling your leg, but his face was set in a serious question.

You shook your head, “You guys don’t have boobs, Cas. Your chests don’t bounce around when you move. You have no need for any added chest support.”

“Oh,” he smiled, “Thank you for answering my question.”

With that, he made his way out of your room.

“Any time,” you called after him in bewilderment, “Any time, my weird little friend.”
