She said the group was tear-gassed and shot with pepper balls — and that one activist was dragged into the facility.

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin will travel to Tennessee on Saturday to campaign for congressional candidate Aftyn Behn, who is running in a deep red district in a December special election — a sign of Democratic bullishness coming off of positive election results Tuesday.

The campaign trip, shared first with NBC News, comes ahead of the Dec. 2 special election to fill Tennessee's 7th Congressional District, which was left vacant after GOP Rep. Mark Green resigned earlier this year.

A special federal grand jury has indicted Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh alongside other protesters who allegedly blocked vehicles outside of a federal immigration facility in Broadview, Illinois.

The indictment, which was filed Oct. 23, alleges that Abughazaleh "physically hindered and impeded” an agent who was "forced to drive at an extremely slow rate of speed to avoid injuring any of the conspirators.” Abughazaleh was charged alongside five other people, including two other political candidates.

Kat Abughazaleh, a 26-year-old who announced her candidacy for Illinois’ 9th District in March, joined other demonstrators outside an ICE processing facility in Broadview when federal officers responded with violence.
