After finishing teaching the officer course, two weeks of leave, and then a week of Shooting Competition build up training, we’ve made it to Ottawa for NSCC and CAFSAC. And in that time, I’ve managed to read quite a bit! August’s haul has included the war dairy of a British Parachute Regiment company commander about his time in Afghanistan, Dale Carnegie’s timeless manual on how to win friends and influence people, my first Hemingway novel about an American in the Italian campaign in the Great War, Malcolm Gladwell’s study of how we define success, and a re-read for me of the biography of the Canadian Army’s first women Infantry Officer. I’ll be in Ottawa for most of September sending rounds down range with some fantastic Canadian and International shooters. Looking forward to sneaking some pages in between matches! 😊 #connaughtranges #CAFSAC #NSCC #augustreads #DominicanOfCanadaRifleAssociation #bookstagram #CompanyCommander #russellewis #howtowunfriendsandinfluencepeople #dalecarnegie #ernesthemingway #afarewelltoarms #malcolmgladwell #outliers #sandraperron #outstandinginthefield (at Connaught Range) https://www.instagram.com/p/B14H-f2J-Bb/?igshid=1evna9rmlp7i6
