As Cisco Systems continues to grow as the industry leader in networking, this dynamic group is hiring numerous entry-level Associate Network Consulting Engineers (ANCE). Individuals will be hired from a broad base of diverse candidates including those holding a CCNA or CCNP certification or those simply looking to enter and advance in the IT industry. This is an excellent growth opportunity to gain a consultative approach while developing valuable networking infrastructure knowledge. ANCEs delivers the technology, solutions and services customers need to expertly manage their networks. In this role, you will be completing customer-facing projects while working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver, comfortable with challenging the status quo and rapidly responding to escalated issues. With a seasoned mix of broad networking knowledge and specific area expertise, as well as excellent Customer Relationship Management (CRM) skills, you will continue to strengthen your skill sets while building solid, long-term relationships with customers. New graduates will begin their Cisco career in our Services talent development program. Cisco Associate Network Consulting Engineer First Year Responsibilities: • Developing knowledge as a network infrastructure specialist in core IP routing and switching and advanced technologies • Attending and participating in technical and professional trainings (in-person, virtually, and through self-study) • Passing CCNA certification examination within first 12 weeks of employment • Passing the CCNP certification examinations within the first 6 months of employment • Passing CCIE written certification exams within the first 12 months of employment • Additional certifications testing – CCIE lab, CCDA, CCWNA, CCNA-Security, and so on will be encouraged within the first 12 months • Achieving customer billable utilization metrics that include significant travel throughout the Americas • Completing assignments with a high degree of client and customer satisfaction Cisco Associate Network Consulting Engineer Long-term responsibilities: • Support delivery of service contracts to major accounts • Review network requirements and produce recommendation reports including high and low level network designs • Plan and execute site surveys, complex network upgrade and network migration activity • Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer network problems across a broad range of technologies • Act as a technical focal point for large account network problem resolution • Generate reusable Intellectual Capital in the form of standard customer deliverables The qualifications to become an Associate Network Consulting Engineer are: • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree with 2 years of technical experience (degrees desired - Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunication, Information Technology, or any other technology focus) • US citizenship required • Maximum of 3 years work experience since graduation from most current degree • Veterans with a technology background and a current Secret or Top Secret Military Clearance are encouraged to apply • Candidate should have demonstrated an ongoing interest in the information technology and/or the computer networking industry • Cisco certifications are a plus • GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred US Citizen or work authorization that would permit you to work for Cisco indefinitely (i.e., U.S. national, permanent resident, temporary resident (that is, individuals who have gone through the legalization program) refugees and asylees. Those on student visas or work visas are not eligible).
