Position Summary We are a team of data scientists, systems and application engineers working on applying the power of real time predictive analytics to extreme data with the goal of fundamentally changing the future of ecommerce. We are looking for a versatile software engineer to join our high caliber team. As a Full Stack engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to work across our software stack. Position Description: • Find efficient, practical and highly scalable solutions to a variety of technical and product challenges • Work closely with data scientists and business partners to enhance and build applications on our real time predictive analytics platform to drive top line and bottom line revenue • Work independently, take ownership and drive solutions across the entire stack – infrastructure (server, network, hosting), data, business logic and services, and UI • Be fanatical about building high quality products • Have great communication skills. Ability to have healthy conversations about technology and product choices • Participate in on-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field • 5+ years experience • Experience developing large scale web/mobile applications • Strong programming skills using a variety of languages such as Java, Scala, C++, Python, Ruby. Ability and interest in quickly picking up new languages and technologies • Strong experience building web and mobile applications using HTML, JS, CSS. Experience with JS frameworks. • Experience developing and managing solutions using SQL and no-SQL databases such as MySQL, mongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis. • Experience with building and deploying applications in public or private cloud environments • Experience with building large scale data analytics applications using technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, and Hive • Strong knowledge of Linux, Unix or BSD internals is a plus
Additional Preferred Qualifications JAVA (Hibernate, OSGI) Worked with traditional databases (MySQL) as well as NoSQL (Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra) Front-end experience (JS, HTML, etc) Linux platform Built large distributed systems (scaled, transactional, real time response) Open source community presence

Walmart Launches Food Subscription Service Goodies.co
Walmart’s experimentation with subscription-based commerce continues today, with the public launch of Goodies.co, a food subscription service featuring boxes of sample-sized treats shipped monthly. The service is the latest to emerge from @WalmartLabs, the retailer’s Silicon Valley-based innovation lab focused on quickly building, launching, and testing new business models that may or may not make their way to Walmart.com or Walmart stores at a later date.
