Connie lives in a castle, and is obligated to attend every ball that the kingdom holds. despite being a princess, shes quite shy and is never noticed. Connie has been stuck living in the castle for her entire life, and has never made a single friend or any one to notice her by result. now, every ball just reminds her of her emptiness, and is too stuck and anxious to meet anyone. this would be the first ball that is held after her 16th birthday. ~
Princess Connie slowly enters the room, passing around countless of happy people and couples dancing and talking. too afraid to talk to anyone, she decides to sit in the corner. the minutes passed by miserably, all that she could think about were all the strangers pointing and laughing at her, she felt as if she would mess everything up by trying to communicate. after almost an hour of being unnoticed, connie rushes away with tears rolling down her cheeks. she walks through an empty hallway and approaches a smaller and empty ballroom, the only thing that stood in front of her was an old piano. she sits in front of it silently for a few minutes before playing, then steadily starts to play a song, wordlessly singing her emotions, she didnt think she was that good, but she didnt expect anyone to hear from all those rooms away.
Several minutes pass as she continues her song. she didnt even notice the stranger admiring her from the doorway. he slowly walked towards her and sat next to her, hoping to be noticed, but she was too teared up and drowned in thought to see him. the stranger wanted to ask her what was wrong but he felt as if he shouldnt say anything. so he began to play with her instead, hoping to get his feelings of comfort and sympathy through his higher notes, compared to connie’s mournful solemn tone. connie opened her tearful eyes to see another pair of hands accompanying her and turned to see who could create such a wonderful tone. the young man wore a cheap pale colored suit and a black bow tie, with dress pants to match, it was casual at best. he didnt seem as rich or prestigious as her or the other guests, but she found it rather charming that he had the courage to go to the ball anyways, despite his unorthodox attire. connie started to realize she was staring at him when she noticed his warm gaze fixed on her, and found a strange, but genuine comfort in his deep blue eyes. he probably noticed how deeply her cheeks were flushing and how soft her eyes were looking back at him.
The stranger reached his hand around connie’s cheeks to wipe away her remaining tears. he spoke in a quiet, yet upbeat tone. “im-im sorry if i interrupted your song, i just heard you down the hall and couldn’t resist walking in...i just had to see you!” connie admired his shy politeness, but was still a bit puzzled. “why me? i’m not even sure who you are! why would you want me...?” the stranger returned his hand and rubbed it against his neck shyly. “im steven...i dont think you remember me. last month, at your birthday party, and everyone visited to offer gifts, i sang a song about you...i guess i wasnt good enough for you to notice me...” steven’s face was filled with embarrassment as he ended with a nervous laugh. “no, i remember you, i thought you were cute,i wish i knew how to play ukulele as good as you...i wanted to meet you after but my parents refused me to leave the castle. im glad i get to see you now” connie started to feel safe, just talking and being alone with the only person in the kingdom who noticed her. “i’ve never been to a ball.” steven continued “but when i heard about this one coming up, i just had to see you once more” he reached into his pocket and showed her a small box, as he opened it, a small bracelet with rose quartz gemstones was revealed to her. steven delicately lifted connie’s left arm and slid the bracelet onto her. the two blushed at once.“after i left the castle that day, i just couldnt get you out of my head for some reason... a- and i spent all night putting this bracelet together, just thinking about you wearing it. i just hope you like it...” connie stared at her gift in astonishment, “i- i dont know what to say...oh steven this is beautiful!” steven stood up, his face bright red from embarrassment. “well, it was inspired by you after all...”
steven then lifted his hand down to her. “princess connie, wont you share this dance with me?” his voice was sweet and playful, and connie took his hand without any hesitation, she just simply found him too adorable to resist! the two spent the rest of the night slow dancing alone in their small ballroom, talking and laughing. connie just wished to whatever was out there, that this night would never end.

Desc: Connie takes Steven out to the park in hopes to teach him how to ice skate and relax for an evening.
"Come on Steven!" Connie tugged her best friend’s arm and lead him down a frosty path. She'd been waiting practically all year to show Steven her favorite park, but ever since it started to snow she was hoping to bring him to the frozen lake and teach him to ice skate. Just in hopes to take their minds off things for a while. Between breaths Steven could hardly keep up with her. "Yeah!...I'm coming!..." Slowing down, Connie turned to him. "Sorry, I'm just really exited to bring you here! It's one of my favorite places to read sometimes" She stroked her hair shyly. "I still can't believe you've never gone ice skating before!"
Nearly a foot of snow passed over as the two tried on their skates and stepped on the lake. Steven built up the courage to step in first. "Ohhkayy....” Steven wobbled nervously as he stepped forward. He felt the ice shatter beneath him as he was caressed by two gentle hands. Connie gazed down at him sweetly "It's okay Steven, I got you." Reflecting her, Steven slowly got back up to his feet and passed throughout the lake, gladly there was no one else there with them because it was kinda embarrassing for him, he felt like he was constantly slipping on butter or something. After a while or so Steven started to get used skating and let go from Connie. "This...actually isn't that bad!" Steven started to twirl a bit while gliding through the lake. "It's actually kinda like dancing!" Blushing a bit, Connie tried to hide her laugh. "Yeah! you're actually pretty good at it so faaaAAH!" Connie slipped and fell down to her knees. "Connie! Are you alright!?" Steven rushed to her side and placed one hand on her back the grabbed her hand with his other. "I- uh think so? Sorry I must've gotten distracted while staring at you, heheh..." Steven repeated her nervous giggle but her was actually concerned. "Are you sure? You look a little cold. Maybe we should sit down for a few moments, if you wanna?" Connie looked up at him intently."Well, it is getting unusually cold out, maybe we should take a break. Are you sure, I'd hate to stop so shortly, you just seemed to get good for a few minutes." With Steven leading, he brought Connie up and twirled her around gently while evacuating. "I'm sure. I'm only happy if you're okay after all." Steven started to tremble a bit as they sat down beside one of the trees.
Tired, Connie snuggled closer up to Steven and was about to fall asleep beside him. Trying to hide his embarrassment Steven opened his backpack from beside him and put his normal boots back on. He looked down at Connie on his shoulder, he just couldn't shake the feeling of sorrow off of him. It looked like she was getting a cold and the illness seemed to wear off on his thoughts. He turned back to his bag, there seemed to be a silver tube like object in there. He picked it up, I don't remember packing a thermos earlier? How did-? Pearl. She must've known Connie and I were going out this evening and snuck in some hot cocoa in case I got cold without me knowing or something. He opened the thermos and took a sip, the coca was still warm and there was a sweet aroma to it. "Uh Connie?" Steven unwrapped his arm from her to wake her up. "Huuh? Steven-? What time is it?" Steven looked up at the sun sinking in the lilac sky. He didn't realize how long they've been with each other. "Oh, wow it's actually late out. I was just gonna see if you wanted some hot coca." He passed the container to her “I'd hate to see you in the cold like this." Grabbing the thermos Connie got up from her slumber and took a quiet sip of the cocoa. "Thank you Steven" Connie passed it back to him and rose from her feet. "Oh,do you think we should head back soon?" Steven took her hand and got up. The snow fell gently between the couple.
Connie felt the world shimmer around her. "Huh...Strange." Connie's voice brightened and she straightened up.
"I- is something wrong?" Steven looked dearly into her eyes.
“No...I feel better actually...Steven, you don't think...did you?" Connie shone her eyes into his.
"I...uh" Steven was too overwhelmed to respond.
In an instant Connie leaned forward and hugged him sweetly and tightly. "Your healing powers! The cocoa must've settled my cold!" Steven couldn't take his eyes from her. He felt his face warm and tingle he was so overjoyed he...couldn't move! "Oh, Steven thank you!" Sparkling his eyes Steven gathered up the courage to gaze back at her. "No problem Connie I just l- love...seeing you happy " He nervously let out a chuckle hoping Connie didn't feel awkward, but between them they already knew what he meant. Connie looked down at him with care.
(so here’s a quick fluffy connverse fic i wrote in an hour)
It was Friday afternoon and Steven was riding Lion to Connie's school. He wanted to surprise her and let her spend the night at the temple. He we was even wearing the shirt she got him and everything! He left lion around the back and ran up towards the front of the school and waited for Connie to get out.
He waited for about 10 minutes and still couldn't find her among the crowd of people that ran out. "M-maybe she isn't here today." Steven shrunk down and started to wonder if he should head back home. Just then he saw Connie walk out after everyone else. She was wearing a long blue shirt dress with a black belt and matching pants. Without thinking Steven ran out and hugged her close for a few seconds and backed away he could feel his face turning red. "Sorry I'm just very happy to see you.-" Connie's eyes sparkled with question and excitement. "What-? Steven?! How'd you get here I-!?" "I wanted to see you! And was kinda hoping you'd hang out with me for the night," Steven rubbed his hand across his neck a bit hoping he didn't sound too desperate. "Oh, actually that sounds nice." Connie responded warmly.
After a quick stop for Connie to get her things at her house, they both rode Lion back to the temple. "Huh, that's weird." Connie looked up at the grey clouds. "It wasn't supposed to rain today." Just as a few drops started pouring down Steven started to get a little worried. "Lion, do you think you could bring us to the temple a little faster?"
By the time the two got there they were soaking in rain. "Connie, I'm so sorry. I, didn't think it was gonna rain at all." Steven hesitated for a moment but decided to unbutton his pink shirt and wrap it around her while walking in. "Thanks," Connie could hardly get a word out before she started to stumble down from his grip. "Oh my gosh! are you okay?" Concerned, Steven held her hands and rose her up gently. "Yeah. Or at least I think so. I think I’m just starting to get sick from the rain that's all." He went downstairs and got her some hot chocolate as she started to lay down in his bed. "I'm so sorry Connie. If it weren't for me you wouldn-" "It's fine I promise." Connie's voice was weak but reassuring. "Being here with you is already making me feel better."
Steven sat on the bed next to her trying to comfort her the best he can. They sat alongside eachother for a while as every minute went by, the same idea rose silently between them. Connie was the first to break the silence. "Steven...You can heal me can't you?" Though embarrassed to admit it, Steven was thinking the same thing. "What, do you want me to spit in your hot cocoa or something?" He laughed nervously trying to block any awkwardness, even though he was just causing more. "Ew gross" Connie stuck her tongue out and giggled a bit trying to play along. "Yeah..." Steven faced down but couldn't keep himself from staring at her. AAAAH why does she have to be so cute!? his mind screamed. His heart was racing and he could see Connie blushing as if she was reading his thoughts.
Slowly, Steven was the first to lean in and he softly pressed his lips over her cheek for a moment or two maybe and swept back with a quiet gasp. Connie stared at him with awe as her face sparkled like stars, it worked! Steven started laughing, then crying and pulled her in. "Steven I'm Okay! Why are you crying!??" Steven held her tighter as if he were afraid she was gonna leave. "It's just that l..care about you a lot!" Steven could hardly think through tears. "I really love you so much, you mean the whole universe to me!" Connie, on the verge of tears held him even warmer. "I really love you too."
