         ‘ fuck me, ’ is all the thanks they’re getting for pointing out to bertie that she’s bled her once-gray shirt two toned. she long ago graduated from shocked and confused to, uh  ---  miffed by these occurrences. inconvenienced. she’ll have to patch up and hope she hasn’t traumatized the stranger beyond what a few ‘i saw a lady with a bullet wound’-driven therapy sessions can fix. 

         ‘ i won’t bite it on your watch. ’ i won’t bite it at all, she thinks, stepping away to peel off her shirt and find something else. ‘ new fuckin’ shirt, too. ’
