It was strange for Jyn to want to stick around anywhere for more than a few days. But she’d stayed with the Rebelluion, even after recovering from her Scarif injuries. Requesting a leave of absence, she hadn’t really considered the fact that reconnecting with someone from her past would end in wanting her to stay somewhere else for a while. Her life had gotten even more complicated after the success of the mission to retrieve the plans but it was a life that she knew she wasn’t going to be able to hide from for long. But as she sits up from where she’s been lay, curled up against Deker’s side, she knows that, just for a while longer, she can pretend she has a normal life. Deker wasn’t someone random, he knew what Jyn had been through when she’d been with Saw and what she’d been through before getting there. The light in the small quarters she had on her ship barely illuminated the room enough but still, Jyn smiled as she looked down at him sleeping, just making out the outline of his face smooshed into the pillow. She pulled one of the thin sheets off the bed and wrapped it over her as she stood up. She was only intending to get a drink and then go back to exactly where she’d been lay. She was still pretending that she didn’t have to leave for Yavin 4 again, sooner rather than later. She pushed a hand through her hair, down and messy for once as she padded, barefoot over the cold floor of the ship. She found a tall beaker in the small galley and poured herself some milk before moving back to where Deker was still lay. Jyn wondered how her life had changed so much in such a small space of time. A part of her also wondered how long it’d be until something happened to upset this balance, because the scale would turn wouldn’t it? It always did. Sitting herself down on the edge of the bed, that barely fit the two of them, Jyn sipped on the blue milk that she’d loved ever since she was a child. She even smiled a little as she placed the beaker down by the bed and moved to lay back on her side, slipping back under the other sheet, setting the one she’d wrapped around her back over the two of them. For a long while, she didn’t actually say anything, she just tucked herself as close as she could get to him and watched him sleep. A moment like this was one of those that needed to be cherished, or it was something she’d heard. Reaching out, she ran her fingers through Deker’s hair gently, finally noticing him stirring, “Hello…” She said, a smile clear in her words as she waited for him to open his eyes. The thought of leaving him for a while was starting to creep in and she really, really didn’t want to. “….I take it you slept well?” She quirked up an eyebrow, a playful little smile on her lips. She liked that she could relax and not bother about keeping her walls up with him. He’d known her a long time and had seen her at her worst. She moved so she could tuck her head under his chin, slipping her arm around his waist, running it soothingly up and down his back.
