“Oh for God’s sakes, John, not that bloody show.”

“What’s wrong with it?”

“It’s completely ridiculous.”

Sherlock swept onto the couch beside me, blue dress robe draping over the knees he pulled into his chest. I looked at him, at his pout, then turned my attention back to the telly. 

“It’s fantasy, it’s not supposed to be accurate.” 

Sherlock grunted. 

“Surely there must be some part of that vast mind of yours that knows about fantasy, right?”

He looked at me like I’d just accused him of ignorance. His plump lips fell open, then shut again. He pressed them together before saying, “If there ever was, I’ve deleted it.”

“Come off it, magic, fantasy, fiction! People like it, it’s a break from real life. God knows we need some of that, eh? Everyone needs some. ” I wasn’t paying attention to the show anymore, I was watching him, every twitch of his lips, crinkle of his nose.

“Nope.” Sherlock popped the P.

“Well, I s’pose that makes sense. I mean, you’re not everyone, are you? Never have been.”

He hummed, refusing to agree.

“I mean, you’re more brilliant than anyone I’ve ever known... Brave, powerful, dangerous, charming, loyal, handsome... Completely unlike everyone else.”

Embarrassment flared in my stomach. I hadn’t meant to say that much. It just came out. I looked away, fiddling with the remote.

“What?”

I could feel Sherlock watching me, and I tried desperately to cover up what I’d said. “I mean, I can’t expect you to like fantasy, you’re a bloody fantasy all by yourself.” Fuck, wait, no.

“John...”

“Tea? I’ll make tea.”

“Are you flirting with me?”

My upcoming archaeological excavation, at the end of August! I can’t wait to be knee deep in mud and dust with the scorching italian sun burning my neck! That sounds sarcastic, but I am actually really psyched!

My bestie raggedydoctor-pond coming to visit me in a couple of days for some pool, wine and Sherlock, possibly with a side of Cornetto Trilogy. ❤

All of you ridiculous bastards, especially those crazy enough to partake in the madness of the Granada watchalongs. And then take it over to tumblr to just fuel each other’s hellfire with meta and crack and heartbreaking ficlets and fluff and the obligatory Martin thirst (which I don’t particularly share, as I’m more on the side of Cumberthirst, but still).

And lastly I guess just the idea that I still have one more year until I’m done with my BA and then I can move to the UK for good, although that’s a bit bittersweet as it’s still a long way to go and I still have so much work I have to do. Actually I should be studying rn, I shouldn’t be wasting away on tumblr.... whoops!
