Continuum Appreciation Week: Day 7- Favourite Fanfic

I must admit I was surprised by how few fanfictions there were for this show, having flicked through the majority of what’s out there I would have to say this one is my favourite. I’m not sure if I ship Kiera and Alec but I like the build up and friendship displayed here and how by opening up to one person Kiera eventually opens up to more.

Continuum Appreciation Week Day 6: Favourite OTP

Well I’m not sure I have a romantic OTP in this fandom but for me the relationship between Kiera and Alec has always felt like the heart of the show (some parts of season 3 just felt off to me without it), if there was pairing I want to see more of it’s Kiera and Garza there need to be more scenes with the two of them in because the dynamic is so interesting andI want to see them gradually learn to tolerate each other and perhaps find out they aren’t so different after all.

I think my favourite Kiera moments are when we see her as a protector in the future and see that some of the time she did question her orders and learn that things aren’t as black and white for her as they first appeared.

Favorite Fanfic and/or Favorite Shots

I haven’t actually read much fic, but one that I loveloveloved because it’s a slowburn sappy cute au is

A Thousand Paper Cranes by Whitefox

Kiera and Alec bond over ancient cinematography, casual wear, and origami. Life goes on, even when you think it shouldn't.

Kiera/Alec slowburn friendship-to-romance, in which the events of the first season go just a little different.

But they have movie nights and then chat and banter over the cmr and she borrows his sweater which smells comforting, like home, and she’s still adjusting and he’s the only one who knows everything, even if he doesn’t really understand how she feels, he still knows

It does move into romance, but most of it is just a lovely, sweet look at why I like their friendship—which is also deeper and sweeter than the show portrays it. And it has some really nice Kiera internal monologues, in which she observes 2012 Vancouver and adjusts to her surroundings. 

She thought about Kellogg’s grandmother and disconnected timelines and alternate universes.  She thought about going home versus finding home, about wishes versus reality, about growing up with the memory of a mother who loved you versus not growing up at all.  She thought about choices, and about fate. 

And she decided that fate, too, is a choice.

I chose some promo shots from season 2 for this; I loved how most of them were super serious, 'look at us being bad-asses, watch out, crime, watch out, liber8', and then just those two goofball pictures.

CONTINUUM APPRECIATION WEEK

day 7 : favorite fanfiction (or favorite shots, if your not a ff person) - My first Continuum fanfiction - Continuing to Move Back in Time When Kiera meets Kiera

 - Looking through all the still and images from all the seasons of Continuum these photos of Kiera remind me of this story of mine.

The story involves a very different take on the freelancers from the one shown in season 3.  My story was meant to pickup where the season 2 finale ended.
